Rammstein To Be Sued By Cannibal?

Contactmusic.com reports that Rammstein could be facing legal action from an imprisoned cannibal over allegations they used his crime to inspire a hit song.

Armin Meiwes was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison for eating a man he met over the internet, and is now furious his life story has been used in Rammstein song "Mein Teil" (= "My Piece").

Widely sold in both Germany and the US, the track reportedly referred to the Meiwes case, which re-opens on Thursday (January 12) with the prosecution pushing for an extension of Miewes' sentence to life imprisonment.

The man-eater escaped the maximum penalty in an earlier trial because his victim consented to be killed.

For some insane reason, inmates just don't seem to get the picture. When you are incarcerated, you're not even a civilian anymore. You loose you rights and privileges as a civilian until you have served you time in prison. If he feels he should sue after his time is served...then by all means sue away. I think it would be a feeble attempt...sounds like he just wants money. What an idiot! Nice try though!

People write songs about sh** in the news all the time, thus I'm not sure why this guy has reasonable basis for legal action. On the other hand I'm not sure of the German political stance as it regards to free speech and humiliating cannibals in order to make hit songs... Maybe the guy is just trying to solidify his name in history, or make Rammstein look bad. Either way - piss on him, his case will flop.
