New Atreyu Album, "A Deathgrip on Yesterday," Details Revealed

Victory Records has set a March 28, 2006 release date for the new ATREYU album, entitled "A Deathgrip on Yesterday". The follow-up to 2004's "The Curse", which is being produced by Josh Abraham (VELVET REVOLVER, COURTNEY LOVE), will contain the following track listing (in no particular order):

01. The Theft
02. Ex's and Oh's
03. Our Sick Story (Thus Far)
04. Your Private War
05. Shameful
06. Creature
07. My Fork in the Road (Your Knife in my Back)
08. Untitled Finale
09. We Stand Up

Commented the band: "We are super-excited about how these songs have grown.

"If you think you know what to expect you are most likely wrong. In the past, we have felt like we have held back certain things sonically because we were afraid to deviate from the 'ATREYU' sound. We have thrown that all out the window to write some of the most honest songs we have ever written."

One of the songs, "Her Portrait in Black", will make its first appearance on the previously announced "Underworld: Evolution" soundtrack, which is due out January 10. The band also plan to debut material on the Taste of Chaos 2006 tour, which is scheduled to begin in February. A video for "Her Portrait in Black" will be directed by Rob Schroeder (THE POSTAL SERVICE, BREAKING BENJAMIN), who will team up with cinematographer Lukas Ettlin ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning", QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's "Little Sister", MARILYN MANSON's "Personal Jesus"). Performance footage of ATREYU rocking will be intercut with footage from the movie; the resulting video will match the look of the movie and feature shots from all aspects of the film. Look for it on MTV, MTV2 and Fuse in early 2006.
