DTYK Singer Steps Down Following Rumors
In the wake of allegations of sexual assault and misconduct, the singer of Iowa hardcore band DTYK has stepped down in order to direct any personal attacks away from the band as a whole. Here is DTYK's official response to the comments made here and here:
"Tyler [DTYK singer] wants to make it clear that he was not arrested. He did not spend any time in jail. He has no charges against him. His decision to step down is motivated by a desire to keep the band separated from the accusations."
"That said, Tyler is completely emphatic about stepping down. He's put so much intensity into making our first record that he doesn't want it tainted with rumors during this crucial time, even if that means he has to let it go. We've worked with him since the very first day and, though we regret having to continue without him, we understand and accept the reasons this needs to happen."
"For now, we still plan to tour in January with Amora Savant, With Dead Hands Rising, and Carnivale. You'll find us out there on the road -- pulling guitars and heavy hearts."
The band is pressing limited tour copies of "For the Proud" to take on the road as they spend two weeks in January with Amora Savant, With Dead Hands Rising, and Carnivale.
