Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory best selling album for 2001
While not considered to be metal by many, Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory was the best-selling album of 2001, according to SoundScan -- which reports that 4.8 million copies of the CD flew off the shelves over the course of the year. I find it impressive that such a hard album could outsell all others in the first place! Other discs making the Top 10 list of best sellers include Staind's Break the Cycle (4.2 million) and Creed's Weathered (3.5 million).
