Former TNT And Shy Vocalist Tony Mills Passes Away

Former Shy and TNT singer Tony Mills has passed away at the age of 57, following a battle with pancreatic cancer. The veteran rocker announced in April of this year that he had been diagnosed with the illness and that he had been told it was terminal. His final release, "Beyond The Law," his sixth solo album was also released this year.

Mills first gained recognition as the frontman for Shy (formerly known as Trojan,) with whom he released four albums before leaving in 1991 to embark on a solo career. Aside from his solo work at this time, he also worked as a session vocalist, including performing with legendary rock band Slade and fronting a Rush tribute band before reuniting with Shy in 2000. He parted company with the band once more in 2006 when he took over the vocalist role in Norwegian heavy metal veterans TNT, following the departure of their longtime vocalist Tony Harnell. He spent seven years with the band, releasing four albums before leaving to return to his solo work.
