A new trailer for the forthcoming Bay Area thrash metal documentary, ‘Murder In The Front Row: The San Francisco Bay Area Thrash Metal Story ‘ can be streamed below. Directed by Adam Dubin, the movie will receive its premiere at the AMC Kabuki 8 in San Francisco, CA on April 20th. Metal Allegiance will also be performing a special set at the Fillmore in San Francisco that night to celebrate the film’s premiere with Gary Holt (Exodus/Slayer) among the initial special guests to be announced.

This film expands upon the book ‘Murder in the Front Row: Shots from the Bay Area Thrash Metal Epicenter‘ (2012) and explores the rise of the Bay Area thrash metal scene of the early 80s which gave rise to the likes of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Exodus, Testament, Possessed, Death Angel etc.. Musicians from those acts and many more have been interviewed for the documentary with comedian Brian Posehn having narrated the feature. Both the book and movie took their name of course from the Exodus classic “Bonded By Blood“.

Says director Dubin in a statement:

“What I loved about the book is that it wasn’t just about Metallica. It was documenting a vibrant scene, where all the bands were equal and there was real camaraderie. The photos captured the sweat of the clubs, the ringing in your ears and the power of young people. Harald [Oimoen] and Brian [Lew] captured the humanity of it, and they understood that I was somebody who could bring that out in a film.”
