A news report aired by 10 News WTSP gives more information about the arrest of Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien this past Monday, December 10th, who was arrested on charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer. Prior to this O’Brien apparently fled his burning Northdale, FL home and broke into a neighbor's house.

When told to leave her house, Pat O’Brien allegedly pushed the owner of the house to the ground.
The resident of the house O’Brien broke into was quoted as saying the Cannibal Corpse guitarist was speaking of “the rapture” and claimed “someone was after him” and appeared to be hallucinating. Telling also that O’Brien also temporarily hid in his closet. Firefighters are still trying to ascertain the source of the blaze.

Let's break this down.

He broke into someone's house ranting about "the rapture" and someone was "after him." So we ascertain he's f'd up on meth and bath salts. (I'm kidding. Who know what was in his system.) He allegedly fled from his house.

This is also right after the announcement of the tour, of which I bet he had prior knowledge of but couldn't announce for various legal reasons, an NDA if you will.

So the tour is announced, some friend of his got amped and offered to bring over some "good stuff" so they could celebrate. He then goes seriously off the rails and... well, here we are.

Drugs are a hell of a drug, kids. If you're gonna do sh*t don't a) do it in florida and b) do it in a house full of ammunition. Remember, moderation in all things.

A perfect example of the news media blowing things way out of proportion and flooding news outlets with premature misinformation.

The facts are:
He passed a drug test.
His weapons are legal.

So that leaves the fire, assault on neighbor and attacking a police officer... imagine your house catching on fire, what would you do? If you didn't have your mobile phone in your pocket, probably run to a neighbor and call 911, right? What if the neighbor for whatever reason turned you away, under such extreme circumstances, would you not be desperate and furious too? He "pushed a woman down".. he didn't stab, shoot or beat her. Did she provoke or aggravate the situation? I guess we'll all soon find out. And the attacking a cop with a knife?! Seriously, if that were the case he would have been shot dead on the spot right then and there. If he were so deranged and dead set on hurting his neighbor and the cops.. he had plenty of more effective weapons to choose from than a pocket knife FFS. If this incident were SO serious, he would not have been released from jail, much less of a measly $50k bond.

I am not condoning or defending the guy, just clarifying the glaringly obvious facts. Lets be real, the news media are sensationalizing this whole thing simply because of the name of the band(s) he plays in. Just plain ridiculous...
