Motorhead Frontman Lemmy Kilmister Says Groupies Go For Fame, Not Rock
Band Photo: Motorhead (?)
Veteran rocker Lemmy Kilmister has rubbished the notion that bands embark on an endless quest for groupies when they tour.
The Motorhead wildman insists that women really do throw themselves at musicians - but they do so to sleep with somebody famous, not because of their musical talents.
He says, "In all my years in rock 'n' roll, I have never heard one guy in a band ever say, 'Let's go and get some groupies.'
"It's just girls available to anyone famous - footballers, snooker players. And anyone who is good looking is going to get more than someone who is ugly. It's just the rules of the game."
