Nile To Score "The Mummy" Sequel, "The Mummy: Resurrection"

American death metal veterans Nile has been confirmed by Universal Pictures to score, "The Mummy: Resurrection," the sequel to 2017's, "The Mummy," which starred Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella.

A spokesman for Universal Pictures stated: "The movie will be take place in the more rural areas of Egypt and we felt it was important to get the right music for the setting. It has to be true to Egypt while also being able to attract viewers from around the globe, much like a tourism spot. Nile's brutal but complex music is perfect for this, as they seem to be totally in tune with the history of ancient Egypt, while also being one of the biggest names in death metal."

Nile themselves have yet to comment and not much is known about the sequel beyond the title, which implies that Sofia Boutella will be returning in the titular role, while strong rumours claim that Gal Gadot of Wonder Woman fame will be joining the project as the protagonist and that "Star Trek: Beyond" director Justin Lin will helm the film. Other names rumoured to be cast include Brendan Fraser, star of the original trilogy, as well as Andy Serkis, Riz Ahmed and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

Nile themselves are currently hard at work on a new studio album, which will be the first since, "Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka" not to feature vocalist/guitarist Dallas Toler Wade and their first with his replacement, Brian Kingsland of Enthean fame.
