The Offering Signs Record Deal With Century Media

Century Media Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of The Offering. The group's self-titled debut EP was produced by guitarist Nishad George, with engineering help from Grammy award-winning engineer Mark Fuller, and mixed and mastered by Andre Alvinzi and Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios.

Check out the EP’s opening track “Rat King” below, and stay tuned for the five track release to officially drop November 10th digitally. The Offering's first full-length studio album is scheduled to drop in summer/autumn 2018.

Century Media Records comments: "Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts the five players behind The Offering first came together in Tampa, Florida to invent their signature version of progressive, furious, and technical power metal with a strong death and thrash approach.

"The wild mixture of elements from many metal genres puts The Offering G in a class of its own: deep musical compositions, extreme, adept vocal performances, a powerful modern sound, and profound song arrangement separate The Offering from the metal pack. This is modern heavy metal for open-minded listeners who can imagine a hybrid of Nevermore, Death, At The Gates, Psychotic Waltz, Control Denied and Iced Earth."

At least it's not the Offspring doing covers of Opeth songs. (the song Deliverance would be condensed to 3 minutes.)

On point, these guys sound pretty good. I immediately thought of an even thrashier version of Sanctuary due to the Warrell Dane similarities.

I thought this article said "The Offspring" at first too. My reactions were "Why the f*** would Century Media sign The Offspring?" and "I can't wait to hear The Offspring go power metal", which in my opinion would be very funny.

Well, at least Metal Underground has never covered Green Day or Blink-182. LOL
