Overkill at Starland Ballroom

Saturday, April 24th will forever be a day of infamy in my mind. I was witness to some of the worst opening acts to ever grace the stage, but on the brighter side I was witness to one of the greatest 80s trash bands to
ever live - Overkill! On April 24th at the Starland Ballroom I saw Overkill perform. If you ever get the chance to see them live, don't miss it -especially if you love thrash. Overkill combine amazing guitar work, great bass and drums, and top it off with the capability to destroy ear drums with the vocal work of Bobby Blitz.

On this particular night, the venue was packed because Overkill was doing a homecoming show. Many long time fans, friends, and family members were in attendence. Before the show I got to hear of the "glory days of metal" in the 80s. When Overkill hit the stage from start to finish, Starland Ballroom became a demolition zone as the pit took up the greater part of the floor. It became exceptionally crazy when they played some songs off their new album Relix IV such as "Bats In A Belfry" and "Within Your Eyes".

Overall, regardless of the openers, Overkill made up for how bad everyone else was and I would definately go to see them again. Besides an amazing show, I had gotten there early and was able to meet Bobby Blitz, he was a very nice guy, but didn't care to do the interview we had scheduled.
