"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Gene Single Streaming "Tornado Dreams," Announces Summer Album Release

Gene Single, a genre outlaw solo musician from Ukraine producing a weird kind of heavy music, has scheduled his new album release for July 2017.

Get ready for something quite different with this heavy take on electronic music, offering a very different take than your typical industrial metal or synthwave. The music is balanced enough to be harmonic and catchy but still have desperately sad, creepy, and heavily aggressive moments.

Gene comments: "It irritates me when a band, playing some ordinary kind of music, invents a new term to define it, in order to look special. But I honestly have no idea which of the existing genres I should choose to describe my work. I tried to remember and I tried to Google.

"None of the bands I know come to my mind when I try to remind if there is anything similar. If you know - tell me to make it easier. But at the moment unfortunately there is probably no other way, than to invent a new silly word to describe a kind of music I make, and I feel a bit uncomfortable with it. Let it be 'metalwave.' But I am not insisting."

The album also features a guest spot by singer/composer Hania Zdunek, as well as two covers from Gigantic Brain and Iron Curtain. Check out advance track "Tornado Dreams" below.
