Round seven of the world's biggest heavy metal cruise featured 61 acts and set sail back in February, leaving from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, FL and sailing to Labadee, Haiti and back.

Prior to sailing there was a lot of online discussion amongst sailors about what they could do to provide aid to those in need in Haiti, which inspired the crew at 70,0000 Tons Of Metal to make a unique contribution, auctioning off a Michael Schenker 2004 model Dean Guitar.

The guitar was signed by the world class artists who participated in the jam: Elize Ryd, Esa Holopainen, Jeff Waters, Fabio Alessandrini, Rich Hinks, Aaron Homma, Charlie Benante, Frank Bello, Scott Ian, Ben Ash, Mark Osegueda, Will Carroll, Lisa Cuthbert, Jon Gallagher, Van Williams, Axel Ritt, Bobby Blitz, Per Nilsson, Fabio D'Amore, Rich Ward, Alex Skolnick, Steve DiGiorgio, Gene Hoglan, Thomas Vikström, Linnéa Vikström, Russ Bergquist, Steven Wussow, and Philip Restemeier.

All proceeds from the auction, running through March 12th at 3:00 PM EST, will be donated to the people of Haiti via Direct Relief. Place your own bid right here.

In addition to the auction, the 2018 edition of 70,000 Tons Of Metal has now been revealed and will sail its eighth voyage to Cockburn Town, on the Turks and Caicos Islands. Next year's voyage will be sailing from February 1st to February 5th, 2018 on board the 154,000 ton luxury cruise ship The Independence of the Seas. Stay tuned for the first crop of bands to be announced.
