Metal label Season Of Mist have announced a North American licensing deal consisting of four releases from Finland's Spinefarm/Spikefarm Records.

The official North American street date for all four will be August 9th, 2005 and will be available via Caroline Distribution as well as direct from Season Of Mist (USA).

Further details are as follows:

Shape Of Despair - "Illusion's Play"

Illusion's Play features newest member Pasi Koskinen, of AMORPHIS fame, on vocals! Mr. Koskinen's monstrous growls prove his vocal range is by no means exhausted by his other bands AJATTARA and To Separate The Flesh From The Bones. He provides a distinct counterpoint to female vocalist, Natalie Koskinen's angelic voice.

Tranquil, serene, yet brooding with the same sense of impending doom as their earlier albums, there is notable cross-over potential present on this powerful album. If anything, Illusion's Play takes a stand against the fast-food mentality in music today-this is one album to truly pay attention to.

To Separate The Flesh From The Bones - "Utopia Sadistica"

Already heralded as the second coming of CARCASS, To Separate The Flesh From The Bones is sure to drag you back down to those early days of grindcore's guts and glory. Although the band members hide their faces under miscellaneous articles of hosiery, rumor has it that band Messieurs Herr Arschstein, Rot Wailer and Pus Sypope could quite possibly also be members of HIM, AMORPHIS, Shape Of Despair, Carcass and/or CATHEDRAL. Nothing is certain however except the fact that now is the time for a new god of grind. And TSTFFTB is a hands down-your-pants favorite.

Reverend Bizarre - "In The Rectory Of The Bizarre Reverend" and "Harbinger Of Metal"

Arguably not only the most important doom metal band from Finland but also of modern day. They have brought their gospel of misery out to the world with a relentless stream of quality releases and the re-release of In The Rectory Of The Bizarre Reverend is their most powerful passage thus far. A mere remastering was not enough, the release comes complete with second disc entitled Return To The Rectory which contains an album's worth of all NEW songs! It’s six songs range from behemothian sludge to almost progressive, surprisingly mellow moods. There is also a BARATHRUM cover, ‘Dark Sorceress’, which is hot off the heels of the BURZUM cover which appears on their CDEP, Harbinger Of Metal.

This band pays its respects to the "power trio" ideal which is laid to rest by Earl of Void on Drums, Peter Vicar on guitars and on bass/vocals, Magister Albert Witchfinder.
