Opeth just issued this announcement online about bassist Martin Mendez auctioning off gear for a school funding project:

"Martin Mendez is selling one of his bass guitars to the highest bidder in order to raise money for a school local to his neighbourhood.

"The guitar is a Fender Starcaster and it's in excellent condition. Can be signed by Martin if so desired. The new price was 1000 Euros. Serious bidders can email their bids to: Mendezauction[at]northernmusic.co.uk.

"The auction will run until next Monday, Dec 12th at 6pm CET and each day we will post the current highest bid on this page. Note that there will not be any correspondence via email. Only the highest bidder will receive a notification. You can learn more about the school's project here."

Opeth recently released new album "Sorceress" (reviewed here) and just wrapped up a European tour with Sahg. In 2017, the band has a planned show in May alongside Gojira.
