Axis Teams Up With Seraph The Light For Collab Album
Axis and Seraph The Light have teamed up and recorded a new EP together as one band. Produced by Torche's Jon Nunez and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Author & Punisher), the collab, titled Axis / Seraph The Light, will be released on Good Fight Music in 2017. In December the two bands will hit the road, performing the new songs together onstage:
Dec 2 - Tampa, FL @ Lucky You Tattoo
Dec 3 - Miami, FL @ The Granary
Dec 5 - Atlanta, GA @ 529
Dec 6 - Nashville, TN @ The End
Dec 7 - Memphis, TN @ Rock House Live
Dec 8 - Birmingham, AL @ The Firehouse
Dec 9 - Tallahassee, FL @ Adelaide Schnittman Hall
Nick Cox of Seraph The Light states, "After years of our bands playing shows together whenever we could, we finally decided to go on tour last December. We knew that we wanted to do something special for the tour, so we decided we should try to play some songs together. Separately we don't sound anything alike but we had such a respect for each other's songwriting, we knew we would be able to come up with material we could all be proud of. This record was written from city to city, wherever we could jam before or after a show."
Tommy Cantwell of Axis adds, "We wanted to bring a lot of different influences into the songs since we all listen to very different types of music. The obvious influences are bands like Cult of Luna, Neurosis, Isis, and stuff like that. But also some not-so-obvious bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Chelsea Wolfe... Having eight people onstage all at once was pretty wild and definitely different than our regular set. We're really looking forward to this tour in December."
