Famous Last Words Premieres Full New Album "The Incubus"

Petoskey, MI, post hardcore and Revival Recordings artist Famous Last Words is gearing up to unveil 3rd LP "The Incubus" on Friday, September 30th.

Ahead of that official release, we're stoked to be premiering the entire album ahead of time - check out all 12 tracks below! If you dig it, pre-orders are live here.

The album features opening single, “Pretty in Porcelain,” which was recently accompanied by a music video about domestic and sexual abuse and is the first introduction to the album’s key character, Christine. "The Incubus" as a whole faces the untold stories of domestic abuse, taking place in the early 50’s. Vocalist JT comments:

"It’s a story that takes place in the United States during 1953. The focus is on a suburban, stay-at-home mother who keeps mysteriously blacking out and begins to have these horrible nightmares.

"With the support of her husband, she is determined to figure out the cause of these blackouts and to interpret the vicious nightmares that relentlessly haunt her every time she closes her eyes, all while simultaneously caring for her son and struggling daily with the Gender stereotypes many women had to deal with back in post WWII America.

"We aren't the kind of band to go into a studio with a few riffs and say 'let's do a record!' We go in with a story to tell. We went in to the studio with Taylor with 12 songs, and those were the twelve songs that were gonna be on the album, period. We've never had a B-side track. The key to a good fluent concept album, in my opinion, is all in the delivery and our ability to capture the correct vibes and emotions that need to be portrayed in each individual song.

"This involves a lot of thought, research, and time. We took about a year and a half to write and record this album so it could be the absolute best album it could be. It was a physically, mentally, and emotionally stressful process to get the album where it is, but when dealing with such heavy subject matter, it is up to us to correctly portray the emotions to the best of our ability. I believe we did just that."

Famous Last Words also kicks off a new trek tomorrow with Alesana and Oh , Sleeper - check out the tour poster after the album stream.
