Interview
A Conversation With Septicflesh Guitarist Christos Antoniou
Septicflesh must be one of the more unique bands in the history of death metal. Their catalogue is an ever changing one in which no two albums sound alike, with new territories often explored as they've gone on.
After disbanding in 2003, the band returned in 2007 and have since released three more albums, "Communion," "The Great Mass" and most recently, "Titan," which have all displayed a symphonic element.
At a recent show with Kataklysm and Aborted in London (read the review here), I was able to sit down and discuss the band's music, plans and the state of their home country of Greece with guitarist and co-founder, Christos Antoniou. You can watch the interview below.
Ollie Hynes has been a writer for Metal Underground.com since 2007 and a metal fan since 2001, going as far as to travel to other countries and continents for metal gigs.

I'm late to the party as always!
Good job on the interview and nice one dropping the Greek thank you at the end ;)
He seems like a very cool guy. I love how he called Greek popular music a 'tratetsy' (tragedy). I concur! It's akin to Eurovision!
As mentioned by DJ and BG1 ;) u need more video interviews! Loving the Rotting Christ shirt! Those bad boys are here in June, fooking bring it on!!!
Good job Oz! :)
I've actually just been in talks with the management of one heavy metal legend which is looking promising. I'm hoping to interview some other metal veterans at the same show
If all goes well, I may have five, maybe as many as six video interviews on the way!
Thanks for the compliment regarding the shirt. The Greek girl at the pub upstairs liked it too ;)
Nice. This girl was from Crete, which caused some confusion when I was asking her where in Greece she's from and I thought she just said "Greece" every time until my mate shouted, "Crete, you twat!" All the staff there are great though tbh.
Thanks again. Hopefully I can really build up the channel with more interviews!

Awesome video interview. I'm not too into SepticFlesh, but I really enjoyed the interview. Nice question with the Greek mythology/political tie-in.
MU needs to do more video interviews! I miss the podcasts as well. Between xF in the Northwest, Dasher in the Chi-town area, Rex in Texas and Carl and Doug around the east coast, surely we can get some more video interviews. (I know there are other MU contributors that I'm failing to mention)
Well done OZman!
