Bruce Dickinson: "Maiden Are Popular Because We Never Sold Out"

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson is convinced the veteran heavy metal band are now more popular than ever for one reason - they've never pandered to fashion.

The "Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter" rockers have stuck to the same formula of piercing vocals and heavy riffs for a quarter of a century, and recently sold out a Swedish stadium in record time.

Dickinson says, "We sold 55,000 tickets in Gothenburg in two hours flat. We're bigger now than we were 10 years ago. Don't ask me why.

"Maybe it's because we don't spend all out time trying to hang out with fashionistas - we just get on with it."

Iron Maiden will always be one of those bands, that no matter how many shows they sell out, they will never be sell outs like say, Metallica or the like

THE ONLY REASON METALLICA SELLS OUT ANY SHOWS IS BECAUSE 1- THE CRETIVE PROPAGANDA SPEWED FORTH BY MTV, AND 2- THE ACTS THAT PLAY WITH METALLICA AT THOSE SHOWS. HIMMM!!!!

Iron Maiden never cease to amaze me.
LOK HIMMM- those seem like good reasons as
to why Metallica sold out. I think the fame went to their heads..
I think they made something like $60 million this year, and that was on tours alone.
My friend went to see Metallica live, and the ticket was $80. I went to see Slayer for $30.
It's too bad. Metallica were a good band. Back to Iron Maiden...I have yet to see them live, and I cant wait.

One of the all time greatest Metal band's of all time (I can't make up my mind them or JUDAS PRIEST) . Just keep's getting better and better as time goes by . Their kind of like the stones in that respect . Time just doesn't seem to do anything to them . My dream metal show an all day old school festival featuring VOIVOD , MOTORHEAD , OZZY , MEGADEATH , JUDAS PRIEST and IRON MAIDEN with MOTLEY CRUE & L.A.GUNS opening the show (just to make sure lot's of broad's show up.)

they are starting to suck though, they are my favorite band but they lost their metal touch. dance of death was almost as bad as the X Factor, paul diannos punk metal, iron maiden was awsome, and albums like powerslave were when maiden was perfect, rock in rio was an awsome concert, but recently theyve sucked. GO MOTORHEAD!

Iron Maiden headlined kerrang download england in 2003 and had the biggest support ever at donnington park wheras in 2004 matallica's headlining spot was a disgrace and hardly anyone was there not like at iron maiden, im guessing you think that way because you never have actually been to an iron maiden gig or experianced the atmosphere you tell me that metallica will be here in ten years and i think u would know your lying metalica will probably die out before iron maiden so big sellers or not metalica are not better and more than likely are only popular due to the pionering work bands like iron maiden did way back so maybe u should think about that.
i have to say Zanderman Paul Dianno is my personel favourite singer but bruce is still shouting it out thier with the big guns so respect for that.
