Thrash metal legends Slayer are streaming the new track "When the Stillness Comes," which can be heard in the player below. The song will appear on the band's upcoming new release.

The track is released in celebration of Record Store Day and will be available as a picture-disc seven-inch. The group recorded the song last year in Los Angeles with producer Terry Date.

The single's A-side features the image of a blood-stained skull with the band's name carved into it, while the flipside sports an inverted cross and a live version of the song "Black Magic" – originally released on 1983 debut, "Show No Mercy" – that was recorded at Germany's Wacken festival last year.

The single is limited to 5,000 copies and will be available only at the participating stores listed on the Record Store Day website on April 18th.

Slayer last released a new song a year ago, when the group premiered "Implode" at the Golden Gods Awards and subsequently put it out as a free download on the Slayer website. It was the first new song the group had issued since the death of founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who died in 2013 of liver failure. Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has been filling in for Hanneman, and the band also now features returning drummer Paul Bostaph.

To all the haters .... F@$k you all.

Sounds to me like a cross between seasons and WPB.

Production is the best they have put out since seasons.

NICE JOB! Can't wait for more.

Jeff your memory has been honoured with this.

listened to the whole song..the beginning is good until the vocals kick in. once the vocals stop towards the end, the song picks up again and is good until the end. i really didn't like the vocals at all.
