Windows Media Player 7.1 Released

DMusic reports that Microsoft has updated Windows Media Player to version 7.1, adding the "ability to rip CD's directly to WMA files at 64Kbps, which, according to Microsoft, is CD quality as well as other features like transcoding, automated encoding and a new media format SDK."

I saw this update request pop up last night, but declined it until I hear more about it. I'm always worried they're gonna sneak in some code that wont allow me to play music I've ripped in a blanket effort to stop music piracy...
