Band Photo: Slipknot (?)

Contrary to previous reports, Norwegian black metalheads Satyricon are not looking for another drummer to join the band for their upcoming US tour. As previously reported, Slipknot's Joey Jordison will temporarily fill in for Frost, who is unable to get an American visa at the moment.

That's awsome. Slipknot fans please go see Satyricon, if you like metal this will be a hell of a show. I saw Satyricon last spring and Emperor's drummer was drumming for them.

You think you have to be a drummer to judge whether or not Joey rules? Well you don't. And yes he does rule. As however, does Frost. And Faust. And Satyricon.

Dude, HGHhehe, Slipknot really isn't THAT bad. they are one of the better metal bands that are in the easy-listening metal genre, better known as nu-metal. but think about it, it will expose all those (hehehe...expose) pop metal fans to real metal. I used to be the same way, I hated slipknot, but They really don't suck as much as you think, they just aren't as good as any Death or Black bands.
I mean look at "Volcano" anyway, it sucks compared to their old stuff. I could right better sh** than that! don't get me wrong I like it, but just keep in mind I write some badass riffs.

Look Jesus, I saw Slipknot before you even knew how to even tie a slipknot, on Ozzfest '99, they're first major tour, they were good for what they were, but c'mon man they are way WAY to f***ing trendy to really be anything more than a blip on my radar screen, so to speak.
By the way Thank you Andy Christ. And rellik, you are the only other two that have opinions that are non-partisan and not brain washed by 9 KISS rip-offs. b-shaw and trym, now that I read the rest of the post the last comment goes for you two as well.

Damn some of you kids need to learn some facts about music in general, let alone metal. you can't watch MTV and think you're a metal guru! well i can see that no one of you has named HELLHAMMER the real best drummer in the world. so no one of you knows the real black metal: Mayhem's DE MYSTERIIS DOM SATHANAS!!!! I know some drummers better than joey: Hellhammer (Mayhem), Fenriz (DarkThrone), Pete Sandoval (Morbid Angel), Frost (Satyricon), Gene Hoglan (Various), Horgh (Immortal), Armagedda (ex-Immortal, who knows where is he?, is he dead?), Richard Christy (Death), Sean Reinert (Cynic), Neil Peart (Rush), David Folchitto (Stormlord), Trym Torson (ex-Enslaved, Emperor), Alex Holzwart (Rhapsody).
Joey is good, but not so good. also Abbath is better (Immortal singer and bass player that plays also the drums on two albums: "Pure Holocaust" & "Battles In The North").
don't worry if i scared you with all these names. one day you will know all this people.

It's a different style. Apparently Hellhammer had to tune the drums in a special way to get the 'De Mysteriis ' sound. He was using a cheapass stainless steel kit and then had to work carefully on them to get that warm, pagan feel to them. You know there is just a special feel about that album. It's a shame that they never got to record it with the best Mayhem line-up.

Chimera on the other hand just crushes.
