Leonardo DiCaprio is Confirmed to Appear at Final Show of Meshuggah's North American Tour
When a mash-up video titled “Meshuggah Face of Wall Street” hit the internet more than a
month ago, it quickly became a YouTube sensation. The video depicted Leonardo DiCaprio’s character, Jordan Belfort, in his most recent movie, Martin Scorsese's Wolf of Wall Street, in a scene where he was giving a metal-inspiringly unorthodoxed speech to his company in the film. This scene involved DiCaprio making faces very reminiscent of the signature face of Jens Kidman, singer of Meshuggah, when performing on stage. So the video of this scene is synchronously played while Meshuggah’s “Rational Gaze” audio is dubbed over.
Fans quickly went to share this video online everywhere. It was such a craze that it even spurred up a petition for Leonardo DiCaprio to make an appearance at any Meshuggah show. After much doubtfully hope, and 10 million signatures later, it seems that the petition has caught the attention of DiCaprio, or at least his representatives.
DiCaprio’s management has just announced during a public press release that he has agreed to appear during the final stop in New York of Meshuggah’s recently announced summer North American tour celebrating their 25th anniversary.
