No sooner did The Agonist reveal a clip of new vocalist Vicky Psarakis, Sweden's Arch Enemy released a new music video for the track "War Eternal" featuring ex-The Agonist vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. The song is the title track of the band's new album, which is set for release on June 9th (EU) and June 10th (North America) via Century Media Records.

Chief song-writer, guitarist and band leader Michael Amott comments: "This is a day to remember. It is such a great feeling to come back with new music and to unleash the first single and video off 'War Eternal'. Behold the first chapter of the new ARCH ENEMY saga... This is f**king war!"

Naysayers be damned, I'd say. That's a damn decent slab of metal right there.

Seriously - what? constant double bass, half-speed snare/cymbal, pointless slow guitar riffs with the most cliched tone ever and some vocal with a ridiculously over the top lyric. None of you are ever going to war, and you don't seem to have an enemy.

cliched tripe.

She's f*cking HOT. That said she really just sounds like a weaker wannabe Angela...but I think she will do.

To "Someone" -- aka "Metal Hipster no. 30288392".

This is called metal. See, in this genre, we appreciate. Go back to screamo or something.

Love their music and actually like Alissa more than Angela even though I still like her, but those lyrics, blah. Why do they have to keep the teenage-angst lyrics? Can't we get back to the Black Earth style lyrics? Hopefully, Alissa will be infusing her own lyrical style on the next one. Still gonna pick this up though.

Just as the guitar melody leading into the chorus began, I was cringing... waiting... for her clean vocals.

But they didn't come! I thought Alissa's vocals might be a tad too weak for AE, but f*** me silly do I like her at the front of AE.

Emphasis on the f*** me silly part. I want her to do that. To me. Now. Right now.

The drums could have a little more variety but totally happy with that. \m/

And try to come up with a better insult than "hipster".
