After just under a year without any major updates, Autumns Eyes has now checked in with the following update:

"In case you haven’t noticed yet, Autumns Eyes has been dried out of updates for quite some time now. Many have questioned whether or not I was still alive, and I am deeply sorry to disappoint, but yours truly is still here. So that still begs the question of what has been going on during the down time.

"After moving into a new house last Summer, things looked promising up until some serious bull shit got in the way. First it was lyme disease, followed by an awful case of shingles. In case you are unaware, shingles is a virus which attacks those who have had chicken pox before. Think of it like a sharp toothed little bastard who chews on your nerves for weeks, or in my case, months at a time. Aside from having to listen to my own music over and over again, it was without question the most painful thing my body has experienced.

"Throughout all of my personal issues, there was a serious family issue that came up in the form of someone very close finding out they have stage four cancer. It was certainly a blow to my entire family, and we have since been doing everything we can to show our support and stay strong. Not only has it been an extremely trying time, but it has also been a time of inspiration. It has reminded myself and my family how precious our time here is, and not one drop of life should go to waste.

"So enough of the emotional stuff, onto the music. Currently I am finishing vocal duties of which I was hired to perform for a German metal band under the name 'Child of Caesar.' Their debut album is due out later this year, and so far I can tell you it has been the most singing I have done on any record to date. With Autumns Eyes I am able to hide behind thousands of other instruments, screams, and sound effects. With this band I am much more exposed, and its a very strange feeling. Having said that, I cannot wait to share this record with everyone. It is a unique blend of doom-ridden goth metal the likes of which I grew up praising from bands like Moonspell, Type O Negative, and My Dying Bride.

"Finally we come to Autumns Eyes. Its been no secret that in the past I have planned certain things and announced them publicly only to have them fall through at the last minute. So rather than tease ideas that are not yet ready to surface, I will just keep my bloody mouth shut for now. I appreciate all the concern from everyone assuming I was either dead or simply turned into a fat tub of shit who couldn’t reach the computer anymore. Rest assure I am still here, still working, still plotting, and still awaiting the time when I can shower everyone with Halloween inspired madness the likes of which nobody has seen or heard before. Stay tuned!"
