Several bands that were set to attend the 2014 Hell and Heaven Festival have posted online via Facebook that the event is now cancelled. Marduk posted this message online sent from the festival's organizers:

"Dear all,

"We first want to apologize about the miscommunication the last few days. It's very sad and painful for us to inform you that for reasons that we don't understand yet and we are pretty sure that you heard about it... The HELL AND HEAVEN METAL FEST 2014 is definitely cancelled.

"We did everything in our hands to avoid this situation but at the end it was impossible to keep going with this project for now.

"Apparently we've been blocked in the entire country to do this amazing festival for political issues and private interests of the big entertainment companies.

"Please keep in touch with H&H promoter for any news and reschedule dates possibilities, we definitely want to make this dream come true and pleased all the metal fans.

"We are very thankful for all your patience all this days and we hope you understand the way we're feeling about this.

"Thank you very much."

Further details on the Hell and Heaven Fest can be found at the festival's website here.

Sadly the cancellation of the festival is because of the narrow interests of a private company called OCESA that holds a sort of monopoly in the mexican entertainment industry and blocs any small promotors that could be a threat to their agenda.
In the future, all international bands should reconsider doing business in Mexico with this company that only harms music, musicians and public.

For sure this cancellation is linked directly with a OCESA, this is not the first time that this show bussines monopoly from Televisa act vs good projects.
For many years Texcoco has a very very Big international horse fest-convention. Nothing making a very big budget for fail; one strong rumour indicates that the non support atittude from the goverment is linked a menace of a Terrorism acting of a drug cartel. Prank? Well Korn and Opeth both list this festival on their your schedules, cba to check every band. Sure they could have all been pranked but let's just say that it's doubtful.

Texcoco market vendor Juan Portugues told the Milenio television network that local residents were leery of the festival. "We think that this event, this metal event, will be attended by a certain type of people, gangs will come."

Im tired of the people behind the festival saying it was the fu--ing goverment.

Yes, the gov shut it down BECAUSE they were doing a massive 2-day event for over 80K people in a place without bathrooms and lack of security!!

that was going to get ugly!!!

the ticket was around 800 dollars (9000 mexican pesos) and it is unbelievable this a$$holes coudnt even find a decent place to stage it all... but it is easier to say that "the goverment blocked us" than saying that the "organizers are money-grubbing a$$holes who didnt care about the safety and well being of the audience"... obviously they wont admit the later ...

and no they are not yet willing to give the money back... it was just incompetence and stupidity

It's funny because it was on the news since Monday that the festival would be cancel. Well, it sucks that Testament made some trouble in Indonesia for nothing since they were rushing themself to not miss their flight for a cancel festival.
