Night of the Living Dead? I don't know IN, most of those older B&W films are chock full O' cheese and predictability so I generally avoid them, but I can't see how anyone could go wrong with a Lon Chaney film or the previously mentioned zombie flick.

The cheesyness is amusing to me.

Nostferatu perhaps?

Good call Oz. The one with Claus Kinsky is awesome as well.

IN - gotta go with "Psycho" on this one aside from the aforementioned.

BG1 - same to you...I've gotta agree with your take on Fire in the Sky and Sunshine. I didn't see that ending coming for Sunshine though. As far as Fire, huge build up for an alien flick with a slight let down as a psychological thriller with flashbacks. I'd go with Event Horizon from that list for fav.

In my down time yesterday I watched Saw 6 and The Fouth Kind.
Saw 6 was just as I expected... The only reason I watched it is because Ive seen all the others and wanted to see
if they were going to get any better... Nope.!!
The Fourth Kind was a bit strange and I still feel a little disturbed by the whole thing. Certainly makes movies like
Close Encounters of the Third Kind and E.T. seem really childish now.!

godlike: I wasn't really expecting much from saw 6, but its in my queue. 7 should be a build up for the finale which will more than likely confuse a lot of people. Anyway, i'm looking forward to the 4th kind.

Cozen: Ah yes, Psycho... Epic indeed. I was talking to my tattoo artist about getting Chet Czar's "Zombie" on the inside of my arm. After looking through the gallery, he's now a Czar junkie as well. lol.

I inquired about costing for original Chet Zar pieces with strychnin gallery in Germany and the least expensive was 950 Euros. Too rich for my blood at this point in my life.

Go for the tat...I wish I trusted someone with ink around N.C. I have no tattoos and as somewhat of a perfectionist, I'm afraid I would just pick their work apart unless it was top notch.

I gave up on saw after #3, but I'm sure I'll finish the 'octilogy'.

I enjoyed Pandorum. If you like sci-fi/monster stuff i'd recommend it. I also saw Mongol this weekend and it was excellent!

BG: whats is Pandorum about? i like sci-fi very much

BG: oh yeah i've heard of that, its a similar concept to "Dead Space" (which is a game), i really want to see it. have you seen "Event Horizon"?

I have and it didn't floor me. The blood orgy scene was nice but other than that kinda meh for me.

I don't have time to go through 11 pages so maybe it's already been mentioned, but I just watched French film Martyrs the other night. I can honestly say it was the most brutal, nasty, and gruesome movie I've ever seen, but it wasn't mindless torture-porn (AHEM, Hostel). It was well done, if a little intellectually unsettling. Seriously bloody with a wicked ending. It's the kind of movie I couldn't watch with anyone else because they would have thought I was a sick fuck.

Feb 12, 2010 10:28 AM ET #266 (permalink)

LDB: I haven't heard of it. I'll put it in my netflix queue today. Thank you! BTW, a sick fuck is the best fuck as far as i'm concerned. ;-)

lol yeah the plot is fucked bg! good gore like u said i personally liked visitor q alot. lemme know bro

Feb 12, 2010 11:43 AM ET #268 (permalink)

BG: i thought it was cool, it wasnt that scary but i like sci-fi movies for the concepts, it interests me a lot because believe it or not todays sci-fi is tomorrows tech

Feb 12, 2010 11:45 AM ET #269 (permalink)

btw if you guys like gore watch "The Brotherhood of the Wolf" i think its a French movie

Feb 12, 2010 12:58 PM ET #270 (permalink)

That sounds very familiar to me.

Feb 12, 2010 1:24 PM ET #271 (permalink)

then you've probably already seen it

Feb 12, 2010 2:06 PM ET #272 (permalink)

The Brotherhood of the Wolf is pretty sweet, plus Monica Bellucci gets naked for it. For some reason I'm liking foreign horror films way more than the latest Hollywood sequel they roll out for easy money. If I hear one more douche-canoe raving about the newest Saw movie...

Feb 12, 2010 2:37 PM ET #273 (permalink)

LDB: So... Nevermind. I haven't seen the latest Saw yet. Have you seen High Tension? It's French and I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.

Feb 12, 2010 3:28 PM ET #274 (permalink)

LDB: Saw is pure crap, horrible plot, crap actors, and its just stupid all around

and i see your from Portland =P my aunt lives there, Oregon is beautiful

BG: how old is high tension? if its recent then i've probably heard something about it cause it sounds familiar

Feb 12, 2010 5:14 PM ET #275 (permalink)

It's fairly old. I can't remember the release date because I really don't pay attention to stuff like that. Great masturbation scene with the hot blonde lesbian heroine. Great ammount of twists, tricks and gore along the way to the finale too.
