FAN - My friends and I speak in metal terms on a daily basis too. Here are some examples...

Raining Blood = Rainy Day

Train of Consequences = Public Transportation

Evil Invaders = Cops

Caught In a Mosh = Traffic Jam

Ausgebombt = Drunk/High

Hit The Lights = Let's Go/C'mon

Living After Midnight = Pulling All-Nighter's

...there are others that aren't coming to mind right now. Speaking like that in public not only sounds cool, it confuses the shit out of other people. haha! Good stuff man...

I have actually never heard of Gallhammer nor Yellow Machine Gun. I'll need to check them out.

I went to a Slipknot show with my friends 3 months ago. 3 Inches of Blood and Trivium were here also.

I actually enjoyed it.

P.O.V, too many Americans have this war all wrong, and listen to too many druged out people who think they have it all figured out. The war in The Middle East is not a pointless war by any means. It needed to happen. One thing that has had me angry to the core is that too many do not realize that if it was not for the men and women of our Armed Forces the war would be in our backyards right now. I think it is very un-metal not to support our troops, and will always stand firm on that. I have been talking to our troops on another site MilitatrySpot.com lately, and not only have they embraced me, but they cherish the fact that I am very firm on supporting them. I am another impass in my life with those that I associate with. Either you are metal and support our troops (whether or not you agree with it they still fight for our freedom to live the lifestyle we do) or you are a troop. I am truly tired of people who take their life, and all its blessings for granted. More importantly I am sick of Americans showing their dis-respect toward the very people that should be standing in front of our troops if they won’t stand behind them. I am sick to death of hearing how our troops are being treated just as bad as Vietnam war vets simply because they love America, and want to serve. Not every troop agrees with this war, believe me on that, but they go into battle anyways so you, and I don’t have to. Without the brave men, and women who enlist in the military there would be a draft. I could give a shit less if it makes me a right-wing conservative (that happens to be a Satanist and listens to metal) to support our troops. At least I know that I am not an ingrate.

By the way; MilitarySpot.com is for our troops, family, spouses, and friends of our troops. Those who come there to degrade our military are shut down.

Wow! That was quite the rant! *LOL*

"If it was not for the men and women of our Armed Forces the war would be in our backyards right now"

Well the U.S. has the big pond defending anyone from entering our soil. Correct me if I'm wrong Kali but, the middle-eastern countries don't even have a navy or an air force?...so how would they enter U.S. soil?...it'd be pretty hard for them to invade us. Excuse my ignorance...i'm not too fond of military facts/history

Shredder, I am sure that you do remember 9/11, right? The terrorist in the Middle East don't need a Navy, or any sort of official military to bring war to our door fronts.

Jul 21, 2009 10:55 PM ET #60 (permalink)

^Pfft, you're just jealous that you'll never be as metal as terrorism lol :P

The real question here is how did a fun topic end up with Kali ranting serious political bollocks at us??

Not so metal moment: every time an awful pretty girl looks me in the eyes hahah

Psythe, with everything I am dealing with I have not had an easy time having a light conversation. It will take a long time before fun Kali comes back... that is if she ever does.

Jul 22, 2009 3:15 AM ET #62 (permalink)

Sounds like you need a Rooibus and a trip to the gym. That's what I do when I've got bad energy to burn :) Get those endorphins pumpin hahah

Jul 22, 2009 3:45 AM ET #63 (permalink)

Kali - I don't think anything like 9/11 will ever happen again. If terror does strike the U.S. again, it will most likely be through computers.

"I'm asian and female. That's permanently un-metal."

That's me, plus I'm half black. Race and gender have nothing to do with metal.

I don't drink or take drugs which, for some reason, is basically a default part of a metalhead's lifestyle.

Are you edge? We could start a MU ege crew...good ring to it.

I'd join that, Wiggles.

Straight edge? No, I'm not part of any groups and don't need to be, I just understand the sheer waste of such activities.

Kali, I'm gonna have to throw my two cents in here. Britain was being bombed by the IRA for decades in addition to soldiers and civilians killed, but not once was the need great enough to invade Ireland. I'm not too sure how that will come across to you but what I'm trying to say is that coming from a country that's had so many incidents with terrorists (not just the IRA either, racist activists and militant muslims), don't get caught up in the fear. I appreciate you're worried about your friends and family fighting overseas right now but try not to let it ruse your life.

On the subject of un-metal moments, I was nearly issued a walking stick today.

Jul 22, 2009 9:58 AM ET #69 (permalink)

I must make this short, but Shredder an attack like 9/11 could very well happen. I can honestly say that no intel has come my way that anything is being planed, but that does not mean that tommrow they won't start something.

Diamond, war is not the only thing on my mind. If I have time when I get home from work I can get more into it.

Psythe, you don't want to know what I do to releave stress. The details are pornografic.

Jul 22, 2009 12:11 PM ET #70 (permalink)

I think all this military talk should be kept to one particular thread.!

Jul 22, 2009 12:32 PM ET #71 (permalink)

I'm going to second godlike's suggestion.

Another Thread. No Shit!!!

Kali - To quote an ancient greek, Let us not go over the old ground but rather prepare for what is to come.

Ok...I'm done with politics.
