Hey GC, sorry to hear about the depression. Good luck with the medicine. One of the hardest things for me to internalize has been to accept the realization that you can't change what other people say or do to you, but you are in control in how you react to those words and actions. You can take control of yourself, and when you do, your ex will realize that she can't manipulate you. Take care.

Today is a day of doing sweet fa, listening to music and blasting death metal.

Got back from the United States today. Wonderful place, good people and great to hang out with Gorecunt and his family, as well as meeting Doug at a Fozzy/Raven show (review to come.) Looking forward to going back someday.

Hey fuckers, here's something you guys might find interesting...

I bought a book called 1000 Works You Need To Hear Before You Die yesterday. Most of the works are the standard popular albums, you know, John Lennon's Imagine, Pink Floyd's Dark Side, the Beethoven symphonies... Guess what else was on there, though?
Master of Puppets, Sepultura's Roots, and My Bloody Valentine's Loveless. Metal is finally becoming a respected music genre.

On a side note, I now have a shitload of music I need to listen to.

Nothing from Sabbath?

Jun 3, 2014 7:11 PM ET #60 (permalink)

Wagner, Berlioz, and Motzart were metal as fuck too. Add those 3 to your list. Travorsky was speed metal.

Jun 3, 2014 11:46 PM ET #61 (permalink)

Sabbath's Paranoid is on there, AP - and those composers are all on there too, BG. I'm having fun listening to this stuff... working on Louis Armstrong right now.

^^^ It's about time you got your shit together. ;-) Congrats.

Congrats TIM! That's something I was never able to pull off in college.

In another topic, since I'm not sure where else to post this...
CROMCarl has the best album reviews, IMO.
When he pens a glowing review, I want to stop whatever I'm doing and buy the album that second.

He's a pretty fucking cool dude too.

I hate to say it, but I think this page is dying. I don't even show up that often to see what's going on anymore. I think part of the problem is DB's troll filter is working a little too well. I miss the days of gangbanging a hapless troll who wandered into our forum. Ahhh, the good old days.

Jun 23, 2014 11:53 AM ET #68 (permalink)

Indeed... Those were the days.

Jun 24, 2014 12:23 PM ET #69 (permalink)

Don't google search for "gangbanging a troll" FYI. (actually, the results were rather sparse. Maybe I should have used Bing.)

I've been on here for about 3 years now, and I've noticed alot of the original members haven't been active for sometime. Not sure why that is, other than maybe they've just moved on to other things or have gotten too busy with life. I blame Facebook, lol. I do miss the humor from people like Fuck_A_Name, and reading different perspectives from people not from the midwest US. Plus, this place is a total sausage fest and we're getting old! LMAO (No one likes old sausage).

The biggest thing I've noticed, is that all the people with a ''Liberal'' view have turned tail and ski-daddled. Tolerating opposing viewpoints isn't exactly their forte'. I miss those days. Destroying Liberal ideology with facts and logic make my weiner move around my pants in an involuntary manner.

Jun 25, 2014 11:46 AM ET #71 (permalink)

I agree with both of ya.

Life tends to bear down on you. I'd like to add that Bruno ushered in a new metal head recently. SilasHockalugie was born on 05/28/2014 coming in at 8.7lbs and 21 inches.

As far as the Liberal thing goes, there hasn't been much to cheer about in this latest political regime, and people have worn out the whole "it's all W's fault" thing so, until the primaries, I think it will remain quiet on that front.

Jun 25, 2014 12:01 PM ET #72 (permalink)

Congrats to Bruno and his family!!
Is that his second kid now?

Regarding politics, both sides disgust me. I'm too centric to align myself with either ideology. I'd go as far to say that we haven't had a good president since Eisenhower.

Jun 25, 2014 3:21 PM ET #73 (permalink)

Yup, 1 boy and 1 girl.

And yeah, I can be bi-political at times as well. Both sides have their pros and cons. Often it comes down to choosing the lesser of two evils, or even the same puppet with a different face.

Jun 26, 2014 9:18 AM ET #74 (permalink)

True that. The recent primary in Mississippi proves how bought and paid for the fucking politicians are. They should be dragged out into the street and shot. From the bottom to the top. An amenment for term limits needs to be put in place. Although it'll never happen because the cocksucking politicians will never let go of power.

Jun 26, 2014 12:38 PM ET #75 (permalink)

Look up iron triangle on wikipedia and you'll see why our current political system is worthless. Sadly, we're hardly the only nation with this problem. The related issue is the only power the common citizen has is either to vote within the system or to revolt against the system. I think we keep inching closer to the latter. And I firmly believe that is what it will take.
