I am not a craftsman, but I have a Mechanical Engineering degree and grew up working on cars with my dad.

To use the worn out cliché, It's not the size of the tool but how you use it. ;)
I did use some big tools when I needed to pound out some things, but I also find that a properly sized tool (not too big, not too small), gets into all the cracks and nookies (or is it nooks and crannies?) to get the job done right and proper. I'm guessing that may be true of your favorite vibrating tool.

WHY IS IT SO FKN QUIET HERE?!?!?!

Aug 21, 2017 12:05 PM ET #508 (permalink)

I've been very busy.

Sep 7, 2017 7:28 AM ET #509 (permalink)

What shenanigans have been keeping u so busy, BG? ;)

Had a 3 day metal festival here this summer, oliver/Dawson Saxon were one of the headlines, they were total legends, super nice guys.

Any world's strongest man or GOT fans? I met Hafthor Bjornsson (the Mountain) last week.... Never felt so small all my life!

What have the rest of u reprobates been up to this summer?

Sep 18, 2017 7:34 PM ET #510 (permalink)

I still blame F'Book, branded. :)

Summer activities... hmmm.... Feel like a caged hamster in some ways. lots of activity - little productivity.
Work has been busy and my wife went to school and got certified as a nursing assistant and now is pulling in some dough. So, next step on the horizon will be to find some land closer to work and build a house so we can get out of the city we're in and closer to where we both work. 93 miles round trip (~ 150km for you metric snobs) is getting old.

Oldest kid has something growing inside her and has been going to the doctor trying to figure what to do about it. If it doesn't resolve itself by November 4th, they may need to go in and surgically remove it soon after. At that point, I'll become a grandfather for the first time.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Haven't heard from Oz lately... No SoS?

Well, I have now reached the same old man status of 'grandpa' as BG. My daughter had her first kid on November 3rd. They named her Evangeline. (I couldn't talk her in to Evilyn from Entombed's Clandestine album) Fortunately, she held out until after I returned on Nov. 2nd from a business trip. She came out healthy and happy.
Actually, that work trip had me in Phoenix Mon - Wed last week. On Wednesday night, we grabbed dinner and drinks at The Attic and had some fantastic beers. I also had their Strawberry Chocolate Mead that was frickin' awesome! Jerry was an awesome host to us.

Congratulations DJ! Cool to hear you had a good time in Phoenix too.

I'm in Florida from January 28th and heading back February 7th or 8th (I can't remember.) In between that, I'm going on some boat ride. Seventy steel tons or something like that.

Nov 7, 2017 12:02 PM ET #515 (permalink)

Awesome news Oz! I haven't been able to get things lined out to do the 7000 tons cruise (or any cruise for that matter). We'll be waiting for the road report (with pics) from that one for sure!

Nov 7, 2017 1:36 PM ET #516 (permalink)

Thanks man. Gonna be there with Deathbringer representing MU proudly. Hoping to snag some decent interviews with the likes of Sepultura, Kreator and Cannibal Corpse and discuss QPR matters with the drummer from Threshold. Day reports and such will be posted. I'm also planning to finally bring back Sunday Old School this week.

Hmmm. Well, um... Happy New year!?! (ECHO, Echo, echo....)

Jan 2, 2018 3:54 PM ET #518 (permalink)

Happy new year to you too, DJ!

Jan 3, 2018 12:05 PM ET #519 (permalink)

Thanks! Still on track to attend the 70k of Metal Cruise?

Jan 3, 2018 8:39 PM ET #520 (permalink)

Yep! Starting to get excited now! Plus ten days before I leave I'll be seeing and interviewing Rage and Firewind. How's things your end, mate?

Jan 4, 2018 12:40 PM ET #521 (permalink)

Not too bad. The holidays were good. Got CD's from Ne Obliviscaris, Avatarium, Arcana 13, Soen, and Ayreon.

Also, just tried to comment on the Soulfly article, but my comment was flagged either because it was A: too long, B: took me too long to type, or C: included a copy/paste. Maybe it was combo of all three.

Nice bro. Thinking of booking an interview with Ne Obliviscaris in March.

Don't worry about the comment. Long ones always get flagged and if it had a URL in there that's often a reason too.

Jan 8, 2018 4:46 PM ET #523 (permalink)

That would be sweet! Good luck getting that interview set up! It looks like my comment posted on the Soulfly article. I'm now curious to see if I rattled Albert's cage or not.

Jan 11, 2018 3:18 PM ET #524 (permalink)

Lol I've not really been following this whole Albert thing. I seem to remember him being alright years back.

It's probably better off that you haven't. He's not the worst troll ever. My annoyance with him is a combination of his willful ignorance with regard to English grammar and punctuation along with his juvenile insults and his pride in musical piracy. I usually ignore him like you do.
