im well aware of the fact that death metal is not just growls, i think opeth has the riffs and i still think opeth is progressive death metal, and i understand what your staying about meshuggah, i just cant bring myself to call them something else besides death metal, sure it maybe experimental math metal, but its still death metal to me |

I have lists of top bands in Death, Thrash, and Black Metal bands at least in my opinion which veries day to day. |

With all the crosses and subgenres, it's kind of hard to pin point bands, especially that some of the bands mentioned incorporate a variety of styles, but for Black Metal (Symphonic style) Emperor will always reign for me and Opeth for Death Metal (Symphonic or progressive, however you want to put it). |
