Acting like a maniac... WHIPLASH!

Jan 20, 2010 2:47 PM ET #27 (permalink)

and to think, i wasnt the one who talked smack on metallica first this time!! but i agree with him!!!!

Jan 20, 2010 3:06 PM ET #28 (permalink)

I was waiting to see who would get to respond to that first haha! Just a heads up Branded, Prokrastinator is a young lady lol.

Jan 20, 2010 3:30 PM ET #29 (permalink)

Branded - Znöwhite is indeed a great band. I never really liked that band until I checked out their pre- "Act of God" material. Superb!

Ah yes, good 'ol Artillery and Assassin.

Anyone here listen to Razor (Can)? Can't get enough of that fucking band!

Jan 21, 2010 10:41 AM ET #30 (permalink)

Not heard alot of Razor tbh, think i have one song in the nether regions of my laptop... Just means its time to get my act together eh!
Assassin are indeed great fun, y'all should check out 'interstellar experience' if you've not heard of em, or just youtube it. If that doesnt make your pants move I give up on this thread!

And Oz, i'm only a lady after that unfortunate 'accident'... But that reminds me, i made a pube hat for lars.

Jan 21, 2010 11:31 AM ET #31 (permalink)

Razor are pretty good indeed. You'd like them Proky, the lead singer does some Schmier like screams but his actual singing reminds me of someone else that I can't remember right now. I'll remember later.

Anywho, here be a link for you:

While we're in Canada, Sacrifice definitely deserve a mention!

Jan 21, 2010 11:42 AM ET #32 (permalink)

I have heard em before Oz, just completely forgot about em till now. I know, i deserve some sort of punishment for that. i'm sorry!
and please dont mention schmier while i'm fully clothed.. means i'll have to do more washing later, sigh.

Jan 21, 2010 12:20 PM ET #33 (permalink)

Sorry, didn't think you'd be fully clothed at this time of day. If I live to be a hundred, I'll never understand you and hairy Germans!

Jan 21, 2010 12:53 PM ET #34 (permalink)

well y'see, it's quite simple.. my love of hairy germans actually fuels the drive to find new thrash bands to listen to. So while we're on that subject, german thrash anyone?

Jan 21, 2010 1:30 PM ET #35 (permalink)

Sodom. It's very simple, my love of Sodom fuels the drive to find new people to sodomise ;)

4 reelz tho, gotta mention Tankard. Beermercht!

Jan 21, 2010 1:37 PM ET #36 (permalink)

Oz you discrace me! I'm positively swimming in Sodom and Tankard cd's haha

Ooooh oooh, unrelated but, anyone know of Freevil? formed a few years ago by members of witchery and denata, just remembered them whilst getting my witchery groove on. They kinda remind me of a thrashier/heavier version of King diamond if you can imagine it haha. havent heard anything from them though since i blagged a free copy of "freevil burning" from the guitarist. very interesting album if you get the chance to hear it.

Tada! found a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEuwj2lcSfQ

Freevil Burning? Oh God. That's painful.

Before Prokrastinator beats me to it, anyone else know Xentrix? Would have been great if they had decided to reunite proper instead of like five shows. Looking forward to the new Toxik album though.

Smell that? Smells like victory!

Where the hell is everyone else in this thread?

Jan 21, 2010 3:16 PM ET #40 (permalink)

Prokrastinator - If you're looking for Razor's greatest work, check out the album "Evil Invaders." You will not be disappointed.

Oz - I'm going to assume that you're referring to Sheepdog. He has those fucking pterodactyl screams! Truly amazing.

German Thrash! I love Sodom, Destruction, and Kreator a lot, but there are dozens of other great German bands. You should check out Violent Force, Darkness, Deathrow, Protector, Living Death, shit...I can go on for hours man!

I met Schmier once, he's a funny guy

Jan 21, 2010 3:29 PM ET #41 (permalink)

Oz - I love the smell of napalm in the morning!

As far as Canadian Thrash goes, yeah Razor, Sacrifice, Annihilator, Exciter (more like Heavy/Speed Metal, but definitely worth mentioning in this thread.)

Ah, Xentrix. Another underrated band. "Shattered Existence" is my album of choice.

Jan 21, 2010 3:29 PM ET #42 (permalink)

I've been meaning to order some Razor off of Amazon, but everything by Razor on that site is so expensive...

Jan 21, 2010 3:40 PM ET #43 (permalink)

Hammer - Yeah, their albums are semi-rare. Try looking on ebay? That's where I bought a couple of their albums from the price range of $13 - $18. If you're planning on purchasing a Razor album, go with "Evil Invaders." Then, if you like that album, you'll definitely like "Executioner's Song" and "Malicious Intent." Good luck man!

Jan 21, 2010 4:08 PM ET #44 (permalink)

I'm familiar with the bands you mentioned shredder, satans gift is a great deathrow album indeed, i'd put them up there with destruction music-wise.
haha i met schmier once too.. ozz can tell you the story *chortle*
Thanks for the heads up on the razor album man, i'll have a look round.

and aww annihilator, how can i have not mentioned them allready?!? I cant choose between Alice in Hell or King of the Kill as far as favourite albums go though, theyre both great for different reasons. i'm usualy in the mood for things heavy and cheesy so i'd have to say king of the kill at a push haha.

Jan 21, 2010 4:37 PM ET #45 (permalink)

You did indeed meet Schmier, but you're letting ME tell the story?! I'll do my best!

*background banjo music* Gather 'round y'all and here what I gots to tell ya. Well, was a cold cold night in the land the ancient Greeks 'ud call Wales and a couple of parties of English done went to see a mighty fine pairing of Destruction and Onslaught. "Fuckin' hell!" the drummer of Onslaught did declare, as he looked upon the limping English boy "What's happened to your leg?" The boy replied, "Hurt it."

Meanawhile, there were three mighty tall German fellas who were as goofy as a pet 'coon, I tell ya, if them boys weren't eating pizza anda watching pornografee, they were a thrashin'! The leader of these titans did speak to a real purty English person. Course he were mighty wary at first due to history, but he discovered that she could somehow communicate with the German through the use of the German language. Bottom line, she got done got a thong signed.

So remember kids, foreign languages might a help y'all get a thong written on, but they don't get no Confederate flags painted on ya cars!

and now to tell the story of how ozz hurt his leg..
twas hot and sweaty in the sausage-fest of a gym room one day, when a skinny young lad was testing his mettle on a rowing machine, so anyway a fellow burly gym patron sidles upto the timid child and..

i think we're getting off topic. Did I mention Accuser?

Jan 21, 2010 4:45 PM ET #47 (permalink)

And the burly gym patron got his kicked so hard by me, I hurt my leg in the process.

Don't know Accuser. I'd check them out but I'm watching cartoons.

Jan 21, 2010 8:45 PM ET #48 (permalink)

Haha, crazy yet entertaining stories, folks.

Never really got around to check out some of Accuser's work. I shall scavenge the internet for some of their goods.

Since you guy's are from the UK...ever heard of "Sacrilege" from Birmingham? Their first album has a huge hardcore punk influence, but their second release is just all out thrash with an ounce of doom metal.

Jan 21, 2010 9:27 PM ET #49 (permalink)

I have heard of Sacrilege yeah. One of their members either left them to join Napalm Death or vice versa. Not heard the band themselves though.

Jan 21, 2010 10:02 PM ET #50 (permalink)

Accusers 'the conviction' got me into them if you needed an album to start your search off.

and hmm Sacrilege.. to google!
