Aura Azul is a Puerto Rican heavy metal band founded by Hommy. Originally the band was formed in 1993 under the name “Prowler Wraith”. Due to musical difference it was inactive for almost a decade and it came back stronger with a new name: Aura Azul.
Raul, one of the co founders,reunited with Hommy and Aura Azul emerged into the metal scene in 2003; bringing new ideas, security and a positive energy. The Current line up is Edgar on vocals,Hommy guitars,Moe Guitars,Sama Bass and Erick on Drums, Their influences are great bands like Iron Maiden, Lizzy Borden, Helloween and King Diamond. 2004 was the year of the first demo recorded,followed up with a demo EP in 2007 and finally the 2010 release of the debut album "Aura Azul". Having played with well known bands like Paul Dianno,Metal Church's Ronny Munroe,Dantesco and Icarus Witch,Aura Azul was hand picked by Iron Maiden to open for them in their Final Frontier World tour in San Juan Puerto Rico. The current single Gladiadores iits getting constant airplay in countries like Ecuador,Argentina,Australia,France. The album had great reviews from magazines like,spirit of metal and metal integral,both reviewing the album a 15/20,9/10,4/5,and sold out in Japan in less than a Month creating a precedent for a Puerto Rican Metal band.
