Snickers, Watchamacallit and Butterfinger's are my favorite candy bars \m/\m/

What am I having for supper tonight.? Well that depends on where I get to stay for the night.?

On my last trip, I came back from Colorado with 2 -10lb boneless Honey hams.! (they were leftovers in the trailer
after my 4 stops, so oddly enough the cardboard box disappeared and the hams found their way into my cooler ;-)
Over last weekend at home I cut half of one into 1 1/2 inch thick steaks and grilled them, along with some homemade Tater salad and baked beans it made an excellent meal.!
The leftover hunk went into the freezer for my next weekend home, at which time I will stick into a pot with some northern white beans and have it for a meal with cornbread ;-)~
I'm still not sure what to do with the second one..? Damn thats A LOT of meat.!

Morning everyone \m/

Last night I stayed at a Flying J... they always have an All You Can Eat buffet for every meal.!
I would recommend it to anyone that might come across one while your traveling.?
My supper consisted of some meatloaf and fried chicken, fried red potatoes, mashed taters and gravy, green beans, carrots, dressing/stuffing, baked beans, tater salad and cole slaw, a few dinner rolls and then I finished it off with a piece of chocolate cake and a dish of bread pudding for desert.!
Yep, I can put away some food when I only eat 1 meal a day ;-)

I had Mama's Pizza last night. The damned thing has to be tilted to fit it through the front door it's so fuckin big. Yep... Brought a few slices with me today for lunch too. Taaaaasty!

Last night at home we made a big pot of spicy chili, 'cause it's that time of year again.

marinated steak soft tacos, homemade salsa jim beam and new castle

Oct 13, 2009 4:05 PM ET #94 (permalink)

AP1: What the hell are chicken rings? I've eaten a lot of chicken in my day, hell, I've even slaughtered a few and in all my years i've never seen a chicken's rings. Is this a "New South" thing or just a typo?

Oct 13, 2009 5:26 PM ET #95 (permalink)

I got it from a Pampered Chef cookbook. You bake all the stuff in a circle of croissants (Luuuuuuuuh Cwasawn!), hence the "ring".

Oct 13, 2009 9:44 PM ET #96 (permalink)

ap1 - Now that sounds kinda fucking tasty.. I might just give that a whirl next time I'm at home.!

Last night I stayed in a small town in southern Minnesota at a truck stop that had a neighborhood bar/grill next door...
After looking over the menu for awhile I decided to try their Chicken Fajita that the cute little waitress suggested was
pretty tasty.!
Damn, I have never seen a fajita that fucking HUGE... the thing was as big as the platter it came on and must have weighed a couple pounds.. Just guessing, there must have been a couple breasts worth of meat in the damn thing and then stuffed with fresh peppers, onions, lettuce and tomatoes... It took both hands to hold the thing together while I scarfed it down.!

Tonight I had a platter of sausage gravy and biscuits... a most excellent meal on a cold night.!!

Oct 13, 2009 10:20 PM ET #97 (permalink)

godlike -- That chicken fajita sounds awesome.

As for me, I had a grilled pastrami, swiss cheese, and bacon sandwich. I do NOT eat healthy on a lot of nights, lol. But I think I eat enough fruit and salad to balance it.

Oct 13, 2009 10:26 PM ET #98 (permalink)

Hammerheart - Dude.. it was amazing.!!
I'm quite a big fan of fajitas and Ive eaten some fairly good ones throughout the years and my many travels, but that
one was, by far, the biggest Ive ever seen or eaten... and it ranks right up there with a few of the best Ive ever had.!

Oct 13, 2009 11:42 PM ET #99 (permalink)

Godlike: Look it up on their website. It should be there.

Oct 14, 2009 11:26 AM ET #100 (permalink)

While I enjoy new recipes I would find it quite hard to feel truly metal while visiting a website called the "Pampered Chef". Lol. I've heard they have some bad ass kitchen ware there though. I may just have to check my "metal-hood" at the door and take the plunge. I had Tri tip steaks with sour cream and chive scalloped taters and a vegi trio last night. Got up early this morning and whipped up some chorizo, eggs, shallots, green pepper, green chilis, taters and cheese and threw it inside a tortilla. DAMN tatsty breakfast burro folks!
