I heard of this cockney rhyming slang yesterday actually from a woman I work with. I'm not gonna pretend I can keep up but I get it now. Metal is kind of a sausage-fest genere sadly. Usually the shows I attend the ration is about 7 guys for every chick and the chick is usually there with one of the guys. And yes... I scare a lot of people away because I'm kind of a dick. Lol.

What has 5000 legs and six breasts? A heavy metal concert.

I will most definitely enjoy Fatboy Slim cbella! Gonna get some metal cred back on wednesday though when I go to see Napalm Death in sophisticated Bristol.

"I scare a lot of people away because I'm kind of a dick"
Kind of? :P

Dec 2, 2011 3:13 PM ET #406 (permalink)

cbella: I definately resemble that remark. Lol.

Oz: Lol, yeah just a pinch. The remainder is full on asshole. :D I come from a long line of assholes.

Dec 2, 2011 3:13 PM ET #407 (permalink)

Sex pest - fucking lol, that's BG to a T :P Damn, have fun at Iced Earth cbella, I can only dream of seeing bands like that.

BG - Snowing up your way? Do you have to head up higher for that? Down here in the southern realms Christmas lands in the summer period so for once it's usually nice and sunny, you can get out with your family and enjoy the weather with a barbeque and head to the beach etc.

Oz - I expect a tale of drunken debauchery that only a brit could tell.

Dec 2, 2011 3:21 PM ET #408 (permalink)

Cynic: Yeah, I live in Tucson propper. My drummer lives in a "surrounding community" which is at the base of a mountain range. Although the elevation is only a few hundred feet higher they have snow sticking today where I do not. Supposed to get even more weather on Saturday and Sunday, not sure if you heard about the Santa Anna's blowing across the states right now or not but they're pretty br00tal this year and they just kind of blew everything down to us instead of Utah and Colorado yesterday. Normally the Santa Aanna's only affect Southern California but they reported 100mph gusts in Utah yesterday. On Wednesday it was 80, today it's in the 50's. Extreme weather for us this time of year.

Dec 2, 2011 3:33 PM ET #409 (permalink)

Oh I could tell you some tales of drunken debauchery Cynic, but there won't be any soon, having been sober (bar one night in early October in Scotland) since June. Also, you mentioned not being able to see Iced Earth, I heard they were heading to Australia soon, be strange if they don't add one or two shows in New Zealand. It's funny you mention Christmas your way too because for some reason I was thinking earlier about when I was in my first year of primary school and we had a woman from New Zealand visit us (I think she might have been a trainee or something) and she was telling five year old Oz and his classmates about how when it's Christmas time in New Zealand, Father Christmas has to change into shorts. Just thought I'd share that :P

No snow here yet but it's cold. Came home all frost bitten and grim (see what I did there?)

Dec 2, 2011 3:48 PM ET #410 (permalink)

Why are you sober Oz? Economy or by choice? Just curious, it's actually none of my fucking business, but I'm an asshole and a bit of a dick. lol.

Dec 2, 2011 3:51 PM ET #411 (permalink)

Oz - haha, totally, a lot of our Christmas cards look like this http://www.timezoneoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/kiwi-christmas.bmp

BG - Damn, sounds extreme. Must at least be nice to head back down and escape the weather it a bit! I think we can all agree Norway ain't the only place in the world things get grim haha.

EDIT: Yeah, the unfortunate part is all international bands just stop off in Auckland and sometimes Wellington. No fault of their own, they need to make tours works - it's just for me that's a pricy return plane flight, accommodation, possibly time off work + ticket. I can only manage it for the bands I REALLY want to catch.

Cynic: I think that's one of the reasons why you're just "too cool to move" man. It pisses me off when people here in the states cry because their favorite band isn't hitting their city. I have driven to LA to see bands before and more often than not end up driving to Phoenix to catch acts that don't come to my city. It's costly and it takes some planning but if you want to see them, get off your ass and do it. Don't sit and cry about it because there's people like you, Wilco, and cbella that don't have the opportunities most of these little bitches cry about. And yes, it's lovely to look at the snow and be able to leave it there when I go home. Az definately has it's perks. ;-)

Sage advice- Don't drink alot of coffee, eat alot of brussell's sprouts, and drink a bunch of beer in one day. You will regret it.

Just got back from seeing Fatboy Slim. The man has great stage presence and it was good fun, but when I go to see an artist I expect them to play their own songs. Two hours of generic sounding house music seemed to go on forever. Legs are killing me now. Couple that with West Brom equalising ten minutes from time and today has reeked of disappointment.

cbella, I like you more now that you called everyone filthbags lmao. And hoped everyone had a "dirty" weekend. Sorry I use the word dirt and filth a lot in my vocabulary lol.

Anyway sup fuckers? Ya know what blows and gags on horse pecker? The fact that I had the opportunity to see Animals As Leaders and Between The Buried And Me and I can't go. Gotta save money. It's a sad thing really........

Hey dirtbags - how was everyone's weekend?

Dec 5, 2011 1:07 PM ET #419 (permalink)

Twas a great one! Worked on a float Friday night for a Saturday Christmas parade in the rain. After that was over, I had some 'quality time' with my wife, and then went and played poker with the guys. Drank a combination of Corona's, Negro Modelo's and some stout jello shots. Was introduced to a new (for me) card game - between the sheets. Lost some money, but had a great time. Woke up Sunday without a hangover and was good to go.

How was yours?

wilco, I feel your pain. I am covering for my boss and another co-worker this week. Gald I had this last weekend to 'rest' beforehand.

Mine was the usual stuff us females get up to........ pyjama party sleep-over with the girls, pillow fights and experimenting with lesbianism again! ;)

I'm crap at cards, no poker face!!! Dunno that game u mentioned - any good?

Dec 5, 2011 1:45 PM ET #421 (permalink)

I thought the game was fun. You might like it - no poker face required. The basic jist is:
The dealer throws out two cards. You have the choice to place a wager of any amount against the pot whether the third card is between those two. If you lose, then your wager gets added to the pot. If you don't like the odds, you can pass, and the dealer will toss two cards to the next player. It moves pretty quick and the pot can build up pretty high. I liked it better than poker, myself.

Keep experimenting and you'll get it right eventually... ;)

Aaah, cbella, you made it back. Figured that "sex pest" Blind Greed would have scared ya off by now. Btw,where is 'ol BG today? Anyways, girls, sleepovers, pillow fights, lesbianism,eh? Ummm, yea! Any video? : - ) Some of us have to work the occasional weekend(me) so weekends aint always fun and games, huh? Got next weekend off, might see the great band Revocation a half hour from me at a small show with a bunch of locals. Revocation ya ask? From Boston,a newer band that absolutely smokes, melds thrash, death metal, tech death, for some insane shit! They're playing a round of New England dates to tighten up thier set, because they're opening for Children of Bodom nationally this winter. Google 'em,check 'em out. Good stuff .

Dec 5, 2011 3:28 PM ET #424 (permalink)

Good stuff from Revocation, R10! I've been following them on MU for a few months. Doesn't look like they're coming very close to my area with CoB. Enjoy the show next weekend.

Thanks DJ. No Dallas,OK Cty,or Tulsa date on that COB tour? Then again you all live in massive states,so a drive to Dalpas could take you 4-5 hrs. Yea,Revocations starting to get a little national acclaim, will recieve alot more after the COB tour. A band thats hard to catoragize,in terms of specific sub genre. Good stuff no doubt!
