ap1, I will never forget this: "How does his dick taste?"

TIM, thats kickass that you got to jam with Jeff Loomis. Now if I could get to jam with Karl Sanders...

Meanwhile, nothing new on the homefront. Work, Family, Girlfriend...Oh yeah, I got a tattoo (that isn't finished yet). When the whole thing is done (hopefully some time next month), I'll show everyone here

Lucky mofo oz! Dude,i saw Napalm and Cannibal Corpse together back in like 03 or 04. Met and spoke with Barney and Shane Embury. Cool fuckers, although i had a hard time with thier accents. Napalms one of my all time favorites, they get better with age it seems! Cant wait for thier new record, and for them to make it back over to this neck of the woods!

Wow Napalm and Cannibal Corpse together?! What a show! I met Barney last year when I was an extra in Skins and yes, really really nice bloke, even though he was clearly knackered and had stuff to do, he still took the time to talk to me and engage in a proper conversation instead of going, "Yeah, uh huh, well I gotta go." I've noticed alot of Americans seem to have trouble with the Midlands accents, though I didn't realise this until I was watching Behind The Music: Judas Priest and Ian Hill was subtitled. Blew my mind. That said, I've grown up knowing practically every British accent (though I do have trouble finding the difference in Scottish accents) so I suppose for someone who wasn't raised or been in the UK for very long, some of it is very hard to understand. But back on topic, I also can't wait for the new Napalm Death album, they never disappoint.

Yeah, you fuckers talk funny, but I supose you think us yanks talk funny too. Think I'm gonna start making music videos. My buddy from the burgh is in town. He has a degree in film and has some epic work. We decided last night to start offering up a quality product for around 3-400 bucks a video. We'll see what happens.

Oct 24, 2011 11:06 AM ET #262 (permalink)

Nah British people don't really think Americans sound that funny really. It might be because we're used to it from having so much American stuff imported here (TV shows and the like I mean) or maybe it's because we're too busy taking the piss out of each other. The only times I hear British people mock American accents is for the emphasis some seem to put on certain letters in particular words. For example, Americans seem to pronounce Glasgow as "Glass Cow" and to use a much nastier example, we say Adolf but Americans pronounce it A-dolf. Then of course we have different words for the same thing (Elevator = Lift, Truck = Lorry, Fawcett = Tap etc.) There's never any malice there though, and we take the piss out of Canadians for their "out" pronunciation too :P

That music video stuff sounds really cool BG. Definitely keep us posted on that because I'd love to see some of your work.

Yea,those Canadians with thier "aboot" for about, pretty funny. Really the only accents that stick out in the US is the Southern drawl, and the New England yankee accent. Out west,i wouldnt be able to tell the differance from the AZ,CA,or pacific northwest accent. I had a bud who was born in New Zealand, grew up in West Ham,London, never had problems with his accent. It probably has something to do with the regional dialect in the UK.

Oct 24, 2011 11:26 AM ET #264 (permalink)

I think people from the South of England (like me and Jackrum) are easier to understand than our Midlands and Northern neighbours because traditionally speak clearer (not to say their aren't plenty of mumbling twats in the South though). New Zealand accent actually doesn't sound too far removed from a Southern English one, at least not to our ears so that might have been why it was easy to understand. Some people have thicker accents than others though, for example while Rob Halford clearly has a Midlands accent, it's nowhere near as strong and emphasised as Barney Greenway's. The East London (where West Ham is located) accent is quite easy though, that's where most of Maiden are from if I know my metal history right.

Us yanks like to have villians with 3 names. That's probably why we call him A-Dolf Hitler. You know like John Wayne Gacey, Henry Lee Lucas, Son of Sam, etc... :P Until just recently, I had never noticed but Southern accents are closely tied to our friends across the pond in the UK. Watched it on some show on the history channel and after seeing and hearing the examples for myself i'm on board.

Oct 24, 2011 11:11 PM ET #266 (permalink)

I always thought the Canadians "a boot" thing, sounded more like "a boat".

I personally thought the canadian "aboot" and "eh" things were a joke till i heard them in a canadian political ad.

"this poplitician says he supports bushs war to go to iraq and waste taxpayers money, but is against increased spending on education. But he hasnt let the public know aboot this stance till we told you eh?"

I fucking fell out of my chair laughing.

At least us americans dont have any stupid language modifers, amirite dawg?

You shouldn't shed any tears Iron, tears are reserved for something that actually is good and has emotion to it. Not that......
It's like Reed jammed a lever into his head, opened his mouth and just start pumping shit out of it and they recorded it and put it on record.

TIM: Aside from the programmed drums, its got a good old school feel to it. Not bad.

Have noticed a few regs are MIA. Where's GC and n0head been? There've been a few threads that have been neglected. ;)

Who's the queer that posted up that cock sucking ball gargling song. I'd like to shake his hand. He's making great strides and will soon be able to carry the torch into the next generation.
