I would hope I'm not the only one to ask this. But I would think it'd be a good idea to have comments in the review section. That way we could discuss (or argue, whichever) albums when they get reviewed.

^there was thread on this AWHILE back, but this got discussed already lol

It basically came down to, deathbringer didnt want people yelling at the reviewers and shit, which sounds childish, but when he explained it the way he did, it made perfect sense because I had just read a terrible review of Brain Drills 2nd album without even listening to it myself, and was ready to start blasting at the guy, so I understood exactly what DB meant personally. It wouldnt do to have a bunch of anonymous people dropping by and starting arguments in a review thread either, like they do in the article and interview comment sections. thats not even counting the regulars who start shit over personal opinions. :P

This thread sucks and the person who wrote it doesn't know shit about making threads, what a moron - making threads rule! (Just kidding ZMA, End parody :P)

The trouble is reviews are on a different plane than just a comment. If you allow comments on reviews, that basically means the reviewer has to defend their opinion against every mother who doesn't agree with them. Now I'm the sort of lunatic who would willingly battle that mountain but I don't see that all reviewers here or on any other site should have to. Even the Metal Archives makes sure reviews are civil and don't attack other users.

So here's what you do when someone writes an album review you vehemently disagree with (and I've done this several times). Write your own review addressing the topics mentioned and praise/slander said album. Submit it to The Metal Archives. Send that uppity motherfucker a link to the review (optional :P) and sit back with a smile on your face knowing you've both had your say and contributed to the metal community in a hugely positive way. Also bringing it back to my original point, you've responded on the same plane, a review for a review.

That's all the explanation I needed. That pretty much makes total sense. I kinda of figured it was something of that nature. Thanks FAN and Cynic.
