ive been looking for a bassist and drummer for a long time in my area of dallas, tx ive posted craigslist, and oodle and myspace and backpage but no one will even respond. does anyone know any other sites to connect with musicians or perhaps some of you are good drummers and bassists intrested in playing some death/black metal with a stoner metal feel to it?

Dude, sit on the strip in Deep Ellum with your instrument and a little amp on a concert night or a Friday or Saturday night, and people will come to check it out. Start up a conversation and go from there.

bro i totally feel for you. new zealand has some mega shit musicians especially in my area. ne1 even slightly into guitar or metal is eitha a hardcore emo fag or a 3 chord upstrummer. try find ppl associated with theory. if they dont know theory they are usually avg-above average. if you want good-god they gotta know what they doing. improvisers on any instrument are to be sought for also

RedHavok: Cynic (a writer reviewer for this site) lives in NZ and I haven't heard any of his material, but knowing his knowledge of the genre I would assume that he is pretty good. Check him out, I think he's looking for some blokes to put something together. He's on the "Drum programming sevices" thread in this section of the forum.

RedHavok.

There are plenty of musicians that are skilled in new zealand. The metal scene is pretty good in Hawkes Bay and Wanganui/Palmy area's.I think Auckland has a pretty strong following.your best bet is too look around them areas.as most other parts of the country hasn't really got a good metal scene because of local hip-hip influences. They would rather "rap" about joining a petty gang.

As Jack Black and many others have said.

You Cant Kill The Metal.
The Metal Will Live On.
