I threw together a quick version 1.0 of forum search this weekend. It only searches the thread name/subject and not individual messages at this point, but I figured that's a start. It makes it easy enough to find old threads when users know there is a thread about something but just can't find it. From a technical standpoint, searching the long text of the messages is a little more complicated, as is returning meaningfully ordered results with potentially a lot more hits. I'll get to it eventually, but hopefully this will hold you all over for a while. |

shit man! I was just thinking that this would be helpful since I couldnt find a specific thread for like 20 mins last time I was on here. I mean it, add topless pics of Angela Gossow in place of Randy Blythe at the top of the screen...thats the only thing missing from "Perfect metal website ever" requirements. |
