Following a 2015 sellout with 50,000 in attendance, Louder Than Life returns to Champions Park near downtown Louisville October 1st & 2nd, 2016 for the third annual destination festival celebrating the region’s culture and cuisine.
The festival features award-winning bourbons and spirits, Gourmet Man Food, craft beer and some of the biggest names in rock music. Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold top a music lineup of over 35 bands on three stages, with performances from Disturbed, Korn, Slayer, The Cult, Ghost, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Cheap Trick and many more.
Louder Than Life founder and producer Danny Wimmer of Danny Wimmer Presents declares: “Louisville: The home of bourbon. Great people. Great food. How can those ingredients not make a perfect place to have a festival? This is a place you have to visit if you’re a lover of bourbon, a lover of food…a lover of life. I asked my team how we could top last year’s Louder Than Life sellout. The easy answer? Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold." More...

AEG Live - producers of a string of rock and metal festivals in the U.S., including Rock On The Range, Monster Energy Carolina Rebellion, Rocklahoma and River City Rockfest - just announced the first annual Texas Mutiny festival, to be held Saturday, September 24th on the outer grounds at Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX.

Our hope is that this is the first step toward establishing a long legacy that rock artists and rock fans in the Lone Star State can call their own!”
“AEG Live is one of the premier producers of rock festivals in the U.S., and we’re pleased to partner with them on one that reaches the hard rock audience,” Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said. “Charlotte Motor Speedway, our sister venue in the Speedway Motorsports, Inc. family, has partnered with AEG Live for the Carolina Rebellion music festival since 2013 and we’re looking forward to hosting an equally successful event in the inaugural Texas Mutiny.”

Ghost's "Cirice" from third album "Meliora" was awarded a Grammy for "Best Metal Performance" at the 2016 edition of the annual awards show. "Meliora" was released on August 21st, 2015. More...
Looks like I called it: Ghost has taken home the Grammy award for this year's "best metal performance" category.
It's clear by the video below that the band was very out of place, with a perplexed crowd and an odd lack of applause, but that's probably to be expected considering the venue and how little emphasis gets placed on metal at this overblown awards show.
It's nice to see music of this variety breaking into the mainstream consciousness, although of course its odd that a band that's so tenuously connected to metal actually won the award.
Ghost's performance of "Cirice" from the "Meliora" album beat out the other nominees August Burns Red, Lamb Of God, Sevendust, and Slipknot.
In the wake of releasing "The Children Of The Night" (reviewed here) last year, Tribulation will return to North America with a barrage of touring alongside some of the biggest names in the genre.
As part of the 2016 Decibel Tour, the band is featured on the cover of the magazine's newest issue with soon to be tour mates Abbath, High On Fire, and Skeletonwitch. The month long trek kicks off in Baltimore on March 17th and marks the band's first shows in the states since a direct support run with Deafheaven last Fall.
Immediately following the Decibel Tour, Tribulation will join the critically acclaimed occult metal outfit Ghost as direct support on select dates for the Black To The Future tour. More...

Ready to rage all over again about the lack of metal knowledge in the Grammy awards? It's that time of year again...
If you aren't familiar with this amusing setup, there isn't actually a "best metal album" or "best metal song" category.
Instead, the Grammy's feature a token "best metal performance" nomination that typically involves a bunch of mainstream rock bands and one or two metal groups.
This year's nominees surprisingly actually include some metal bands, but of course only those that are most well known. The 2016 Grammy nominees for "Best Metal Performance" are: More...

Metal Injection correspondent Robert Pasbani recently interviewed one of those nameless ghouls from Ghost and asked all you needed to know about the band in 2015.
