"We are extremely excited to be touring with such legendary bands in the metal scene as Fear Factory and Shadows Fall. We really look up to these bands that helped pave the way for the metal of today, and we're definitely inspired by their ability to stick around for so long doing this, especially Fear Factory, being that they are one of the pioneers of the industrial metal genre. Joining the 60 bands already announced are Staind, Wednesday 13, Unearth, Cathedral, Shadows Fall, Heaven Shall Burn, Your Demise, Kittie, and 14 other (mostly non-metal) bands.
Hole has pulled out of the festival after frontwoman Courtney Love refused to play before Limp Bizkit. Soundwave boss AJ Maddah said on Twitter that he was "relieved we got the moody old cow off the bill. [There’s] no point talking her back, only for her to cancel later, or turn up & act like a rotten twat to other artists, fans, etc."

Shadows Fall Guitarist To Tour With Times of Grace
Shadows Fall guitarist Matt Bachand will be the bassist for Times of Grace's upcoming U.S. tour with Underoath, the band's label, Roadrunner Records, announced.
Bachand, a longtime friend of TOG/Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and vocalist Jesse Leach, takes over for bassist Daniel Struble, who has left the band to tend to "personal matters." Struble also plays in Five Pointe O. The rest of the band will be rounded out by Dutkiewicz' KsE guitar partner Joel Stroetzel and drummer Dan Gluszak.
“Losing Daniel was a blow to the Times of Grace camp, but we knew he had to do what was best for him and his family,” said Leach. “Having Matt show interest in joining the touring lineup could not have been a better fit! I have been a fan of Matt's voice and guitar work for many years. I am honored and very stoked to have him join us on tour to play bass and sing backup vocals. Matt is a great guy, and someone Adam, Joel and I have all known for years. Personality-wise and as a musician, it clicks so well. I am certain Matt will add a great vibe and bring his own style to the live show!”
Bachand said: “I am very excited to be a part of Times of Grace. Not only will it be great to get onstage with some old friends, but I am looking forward to something new musically as this role as bassist will be a very different experience from my role as guitarist of Shadows Fall.”
Dutkiewicz, who formed the band last year with Leach, former vocalist for KsE, said of Bachand joining the tour: “I’ll miss the crap out of Dan, but I’m so stoked to be bro-ing down with our longtime beer-swilling bassist bud Bachand. Come out to the shows and prepare to flex!”

Death Ray Vision Explodes In Boston
Nothing spices up a shitty, rainy afternoon like a good, old-fashioned metal show. And it’s even better when said daytime metal show includes some bonafide rock stars kicking complete ass in an intimate venue.
That’s just what unfolded in the dank, dark confines of Church in the shadows of Boston’s Fenway Park this past Saturday when Brian Fair of Shadows Fall and Mike D’Antonio of Killswitch Engage shattered the day’s doldrums with an hour of thrashy punk with their new side project Death Ray Vision.
The pair of old friends, joined by KsE/Seemless guitarist Pete Cortese, Cannae drummer Colin Conway and newcomer Zack Wells also on guitar, unveiled the new band a couple weeks ago at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in Worcester, Mass.
But this was their first show in Boston and it was a throwback to the all-ages union hall shows where the band members started out. They chose heavily from their newly-released EP “Get Lost or Get Dead,” ripping through “Shatter Frames,” “Get Lost” and the punishing hardcore romp, “Not for Glory.” More...

Shadows Fall Issues Band Update
Shadows Fall vocalist Brian Fair has posted the following update online:
"Can't wait for the shows this weekend in New York and New Jersey! These will be our last two shows before we go into writing mode and a perfect way to end our tour cycle for 'Retribution'.
"Shadows Fall has not played a show in New York City for way too long and a spot like Santos Party House is the perfect place for an up-close-and-chaotic metal show. We head to Starland Ballroom in New Jersey the next day, a venue that has always been one of our favorite places to play and always an amazing crowd. Both shows are early, so no slacking. Get down early and get the party started."
