Latest Shadows Fall News
Below is our complete Shadows Fall news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Note: We began associating news directly with bands in late 2003. Therefore, earlier band news may not be listed on this page.
Shadows Fall are on the verge of signing a European deal with Roadrunner Records, informed sources have told Blabbermouth.net. The Massachusetts-based band, who sold nearly 250,000 copies of their latest CD, "The War Within", in the United States, have fulfilled their commitment to Century Media Records and are expected to sign a big-money major-label deal (possibly with Atlantic) for the North American territory.
Shadows Fall had previously indicated that they were very happy with Century Media and had no intentions of signing with a bigger label. In an interview with Metal-Rules.com conducted last year, Shadows Fall singer Brian Fair said of Century Media, "They have seriously stepped it up in such a way that…all you can ask from a label is that as you grow as a band is that they step up and push you further and further. I've been amazed at the job they've done for us in the last couple years. It's been amazing to feel that support. It makes you work harder, you know what I mean? It's just awesome. Especially being on a small label like that compared with some of the bands that we've seen step up to the major labels, I think we have just as much going for us as they do. Only we still have all the control (laughs)."
Shadows Fall have been confirmed as one of the main-stage performers at this year's Ozzfest beginning on July 15 in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
Terror are currently in Europe on tour. The band will return to the U.S. next week, then join the Sounds Of The Underground tour for two weeks on July 15th. August plans include performing at Hellfest and filming a new video, the details of which have yet to be announced. In September Terror will tour Japan for ten days before hooking up with Converge for a two-week Canadian tour. Immediately following that trek, the band will tour briefly in mid-October with Donnybrook. Finally, Terror will then hit the road for a five week, full U.S. tour with Shadows Fall, Fear Factory, and Bleeding Through. Meanwhile, in December the group will finish writing their next album for Trustkill Records, which will be recorded this winter.

Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS, is reporting that the SHADOWS FALL are currently in negotiations with two major labels following the fulfillment of their commitment to Century Media Records. The Massachusetts-based band, who sold nearly 250,000 copies of their latest CD, "The War Within", in the U.S., had previously indicated that they were very happy with Century Media and had no intentions of signing with a bigger label. However, that now appears to have changed, if these latest reports are to be believed.
Slipknot has been forced to drop all of the opening acts on their Subliminal Verses Tour according to a posting on the official From Autumn to Ashes website.
From Autumn to Ashes report: Due to unforeseen Union enforced time constraints with venues, From Autumn to Ashes were removed from Slipknot's Subliminal Verses Tour, along with all of the opening act bands. The tour will remain a three band bill with Shadows Fall and Lamb of God as the openers.
From Autumn To Ashes want to apologize to all you who bought tickets to the Slipknot shows they were on. A number of alternatives were presented to the unions and the venues, but in the end, an agreement was unable to be reached. From Autumn to Ashes and Slipknot both deeply regret letting the fans down.
The band was really looking forward to playing the west coast and hope they see all of you at the Sounds of the Underground tour this summer.
Metal musicians congratulate Anthrax on their 20th anniversary:
Megadeth's Dave Mustaine: "Anthrax is a band that I have always respected, that has always mattered and was very important to the American metal scene. As part of the 'big four' they were responsible for an enormous amount of the credit for helping establish American metal bands as serious contenders in the world of metal."
Metallica's Kirk Hammett: "Anthrax's music matters. In the pantheon of modern metal, ANTHRAX are certainly a cornerstone, and if one listens, one can hear their influence on any number of up and coming bands of the new generation."
Deftones' Abe Cunningham: "Anthrax plays a huge role in Stef and me meeting and starting to jam together; we met through a mutual friend who gave me my first copy of 'Among the Living'. Deftones started in 1988, but before that it was just the two of us in his mom's hot ass garage with the dryer on and the washing machine overflowing trying to make it through 'Indians' and 'Caught In A Mosh'. I would like to thank you guys for the inspiration, your precision, your tones, your dedication and for having the nut sacks to try shit that no one would. Happy 20th Anniversary!!! All the best."
Judas Priest's Rob Halford: "Everyone in Judas Priest congratulates our good friends from Anthrax for passing their 20th-year metal milestone. We have always been fans of the band and had the pleasure to do many shows together. Anthrax are true pioneers with their unique style, sound and heavy brand of metal. They have always and will continue to inspire and influence those around them within the metal world." More...
