Shadows Fall To Make Last Century Media Release
SHADOWS FALL will mark their last ever Century Media release with a DVD that will include a set of rarities, backstage footage, and clips from select live performances. It's widely expected SHADOWS FALL are to announce their signing to a major label very soon. A title and a release date for the DVD are to be announced.
The Haunted Annihilating Fans At Ozzfest
Swedish thrash titans THE HAUNTED are currently annihilating crowds at Ozzfest, which is the group's first U.S. run since wrapping up the "Devastation Across The Nation Tour" alongside SHADOWS FALL and DAMAGEPLAN last year. They recently completed a new video for "No Compromise" with acclaimed director Roger Johansson (IN FLAMES, SOILWORK); look for it now on Fuse's "Metal Asylum" and on MTV2's "Headbangers Ball" next weekend.
Peter Dolving (vocals) checks in with the following report from the road, after playing two shows in twelve hours: "It's going to be a long hot summer. My mind is slowly accepting it. I've gone soft in the time that we've been off tour, but now I am paying for it. My body is prepared, but the mind has no way getting ready for the complete assault on the senses a tour like this is. Outside it's in the nineties, and inside it's freezing, causing all the muscles to ache, while my sick libido pushes me hard.
"The show in Hartford was amazing, and it was great to see the kids embracing us. This feels new, but unfortunately I did a stupid thing going on stage with no shoes, and now my feet have two aching sores. I need these types of physical rewards. After the show I was so pissed off — we played 21 seconds too long, so the stage manager came screaming in my face the moment I walked off stage. I went running for an hour until I collapsed, drank water and fell asleep. We just played a killer off-date in Burlington, VT at 9:00 p.m., only to take the stage twelve hours later in Camden, NJ. Still, for some twisted reason, I really dig the self-torture involved in this."
Rob Zombie Comments On Playing The Second Stage
Launch Radio Networks reports: As Ozzfest 2005 kicks off today in Mansfield, Massachusetts, former main stage performer ROB ZOMBIE will headline the festival's second stage for the first time. Zombie told Launch that getting close to the fans on the smaller second stage has been on his mind for a while. "That's been something I've wanted to do for like — I remember I first mentioned that about three years ago to Ozzy, and he thought it was a crazy idea and he kept begging me not to do it," he said. "Even this year, they tried to get me back on the main stage, but I didn't want to do it. Ozzfest is a fun vibe, but you always feel like the second stage is having all the fun, 'cause main stage is a very uptight situation. Basically, you know, if I'm gonna do it, I want it to be fun."
Zombie's touring band this summer features former MARILYN MANSON guitarist John 5, longtime bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson and ex-ALICE COOPER drummer Tommy Clufetos.
The Ozzfest 2005 lineup also includes BLACK SABBATH, IRON MAIDEN, MUDVAYNE and, on the last eight dates, VELVET REVOLVER.
Zombie isn't supporting a new album this summer, but he is promoting his second effort as a screenwriter and director. His highly anticipated horror movie, "The Devil's Rejects", arrives in theatres on July 22.

Shadows Fall To Sign Euro Deal With Roadrunner
Shadows Fall are on the verge of signing a European deal with Roadrunner Records, informed sources have told Blabbermouth.net. The Massachusetts-based band, who sold nearly 250,000 copies of their latest CD, "The War Within", in the United States, have fulfilled their commitment to Century Media Records and are expected to sign a big-money major-label deal (possibly with Atlantic) for the North American territory.
Shadows Fall had previously indicated that they were very happy with Century Media and had no intentions of signing with a bigger label. In an interview with Metal-Rules.com conducted last year, Shadows Fall singer Brian Fair said of Century Media, "They have seriously stepped it up in such a way that…all you can ask from a label is that as you grow as a band is that they step up and push you further and further. I've been amazed at the job they've done for us in the last couple years. It's been amazing to feel that support. It makes you work harder, you know what I mean? It's just awesome. Especially being on a small label like that compared with some of the bands that we've seen step up to the major labels, I think we have just as much going for us as they do. Only we still have all the control (laughs)."
Shadows Fall have been confirmed as one of the main-stage performers at this year's Ozzfest beginning on July 15 in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
Terror Touring Plans
Terror are currently in Europe on tour. The band will return to the U.S. next week, then join the Sounds Of The Underground tour for two weeks on July 15th. In September Terror will tour Japan for ten days before hooking up with Converge for a two-week Canadian tour. Immediately following that trek, the band will tour briefly in mid-October with Donnybrook. Finally, Terror will then hit the road for a five week, full U.S. tour with Shadows Fall, Fear Factory, and Bleeding Through. Meanwhile, in December the group will finish writing their next album for Trustkill Records, which will be recorded this winter.
