Poisonblack — the Finnish band featuring former Sentenced frontman Ville Laihiala — has scheduled a number of headlining tour dates in its home country immediately following its European tour with Dark Tranquility and Fear My Thoughts.
"A Dead Heavy Day," the new album from Poisonblack recently entered the Finnish chart at position No. 6. The album was made available as standard CD, LP plus bonus CD as well as limited-edition CD plus bonus DVD containing a "Making Of A Dead Heavy Day," the video for the single "Rush" (taken from the band's 2006 effort "Lust-Stained Despair"), and seven songs filmed at an exclusive semi-acoustic gig at Radio Mega in the band's hometown of Oulu.

2008 has become an extremely exciting year in the history of Century Media Records, one of the world's most respected independent homes for heavy music, as the label is celebrating its 20th anniversary!
The company's Anniversary year started off with an extremely successful, first-ever yard sale/party at the Century Media office in Dortmund (Germany) in June, where several hundred guests partied out on exclusive live shows by Angel Dust and Turisas. A video with impressions from the event can be seen at this location. A photo gallery for this event can be viewed here.
To further celebrate this anniversary Century Media Records will release the very special 2CD compilation "Covering 20 Years Of Extremes" on September 15th in Europe and on October 14th in North America. The various artists covers-release includes 32 mostly exclusive recordings and will be available in stores for the price of one CD. Sticking to the "keep it in the family" slogan, CM approached their artists about covering songs from other acts within the label's repertoire and the response from the musicians was overwhelming.
Some choices were obvious and homages to the bands that influenced them, others were inspired picks. This combination ended up leading to a heavily entertaining and truly special final result across all sub-genres of heavy music.

"Hello everyone! Well another year, another x-mas... good times for some and for others, just a pain in the ass... But whatever it represents for each one of you, we wish you the best for this holiday season with your loved ones. In 2006, we in Kataklysm have had a great year and it is because of you - the fans. It's not about how much money or how popular you get, it's about each one of you that comes to our shows and understands what's going on and give us that energy. You make this worth every minute. You belong with us and together we will conquer all because as you are our remedy, we are yours, we help each other. Music is the key for survival. Without it, emotions are lost, thoughts are distorted and feelings gone. We create music but you are our inspiration... Cheers to all of you!
"2007 brings forth new challenges for kataklysm and we start with our beloved Europe. We invite all of our fans to come to the kataklysmic devastation in January. We are prepared, join us..."
