In Solitude Premieres New Song Online

Metalunderground.com is proud to host the premiere of the second new song from Swedish classic/doom metal band In Solitude's upcoming new album. The song, "To Her Darkness" is off the band's sophomore album, "The World. The Flesh. The Devil," which is due out on Metal Blade Records on May 24th.

"The World. The Flesh. The Devil" was recorded in Novermber 2010 at Nicke Anderson's (HELLACOPTERS) brand new studio Gutterview Recorders in Stockholm, Sweden with producer Fred Estby (DISMEMBER, DEATH BREATH). "From the first meeting with Fred, we knew that we wanted to work with him. He fully understood our needs and what we are aiming to create. After hearing his work, we knew that he was also a fan of organic production. This is very important to us. His studio is recently built and we are thrilled to be one of the first bands to record within its walls" comments the band.

Specially priced preorders for "The World. The Flesh. The Devil" are now available here: both the CD and a CD/T-shirt bundle are available.

The tracklisting for "The World. The Flesh. The Devil" is as follows:

1. The World, The Flesh, The Devil
2. We Were Never Here
3. Serpents Are Rising
4. Poisoned, Blessed, and Burned
5. Demons
6. To Her Darkness
7. Dance of the Adversary
8. On Burning Paths

Decibel recently premiered "Serpents Are Rising," which you can check out here.

IN SOLITUDE has also been confirmed to play this year’s Maryland Death Fest marking the band’s first U.S. appearance. The band will be playing on Saturday, May 28th. Fans can get tickets to the Maryland Deathfest here.

In 2008, Sweden’s S.M.P. Records released the EP "Hidden Dangers" as a 7”, which quickly sold out. Under this same cycle, the band unleashed their nameless eight-song, full-length debut in the form of a CD on Pure Steel Records.

MD Deathfest Cancellations and Replacements

The Maryland Deathfest organizers have announced that Death Breath and Devourment have canceled their scheduled appearances at the event this year and replacements have been named.

Death Breath has issued the following statement regarding their cancellation:

"Production difficulties with the complexity of the band being spread all over the world made an error in the schedule, so we simply had to cancel as we felt we couldn´t achieve a good performance. To do a one off show is actually more difficult than we thought. We are very sorry for this and wanna say thanks for understanding to the fans and the promoter."

Devourment canceled as the result of a member in the band attending to family matters.

As a result of these cancellations, In Solitude (Sweden) will be making the band's first U.S. appearance, and Skinless will be playing the act's last ever show, and with the original line up. In Solitude will be playing on Saturday, and Skinless will be playing on Sunday.

The final Deathfest schedule was to be released this Friday, April 29th, but these changes have delayed those plans. Expect a complete schedule next week.

In Solitude Streaming New Single

Uppsala Sweden's In Solitude has set the track "Serpents Are Rising" as the group's first single off the upcoming debut full-length "The World. The Flesh. The Devil," in stores everywhere May 24th. Decibel Magazine is hosting the exclusive premier on the single, which can be heard at this location.

Vocalist Hornper comments: "Certain fragments of Serpents are Rising are among the oldest parts of The World. The Flesh. The Devil and the song was steadily taking form throughout the whole writing and recording process, and the last parts were put together just minutes before it was recorded. It is certainly one of the more straight-forward and stabbing-paced songs on the album and I think it's a worthy representative of that erupting energy of the album, as well as the self-sacrifice made. The poem was written by Viusiudad (of Reveal) and was given a title and put in song-context myself. And like everything with brother Viusiudad; a strange, holy and collaborative effort. Blessings to him! And the poem deals with the ever-present, ever-guiding and ever-rising inner serpent."

"The World. The Flesh. The Devil" cover artwork can be found here and the track listing is as follows:

1. The World, The Flesh, The Devil
2. We Were Never Here
3. Serpents Are Rising
4. Poisoned, Blessed, and Burned
5. Demons
6. To Her Darkness
7. Dance of the Adversary
8. On Burning Paths

In Solitude Announces New Album Details

Sweden's In Solitude has announced that the band's Metal Blade debut will be titled "The World. The Flesh. The Devil." The album is due out on May 24th, and the cover artwork can be viewed below, which consists of shadowy portrait chosen from a collection of images by artist Jesse Peper.

The band commented on the artwork, "At first, we had a very hard time trying to make our world and our material visual as an album cover. A few collaborations were made, thousands of ideas were put on test, but sadly enough, we were never satisfied. But as we came across the exceptional and amazing world of Jesse Peper, and the specific shadow portrait you see on the cover (not to forget the ones that live within its pages), it was as if we all remembered something. Like out of a dream, or distant memory. Of a face that told us to step into this darkness; the darkness in which the seeds of In Solitude grow and bloom. And with Jesse Peper we certainly came closer. And we are always coming closer; further away and closer home. And the cover depicts our guide, on burning paths."

"The World. The Flesh. The Devil" track listing:

1. The World, The Flesh, The Devil
2. We Were Never Here
3. Serpents Are Rising
4. Poisoned, Blessed, and Burned
5. Demons
6. To Her Darkness

In Solitude Signs To Metal Blade

Swedish metal act In Solitude has inked a deal with Metal Blade Records. In Solitude has commented on the signing:

"It’s been a very long, uneasy process finding the right home for In Solitude. After going over several offers from labels, Metal Blade’s genuine interest in, and understanding of our music, singled them out. This coupled with our respect for them, made this historic label the obvious choice. Over the years, Metal Blade has put out an amazing array of masterpiece records. We are very excited and honored to be able to add to this respected collection over the years to come."

President of Metal Blade Records Michael Faley adds: "In Solitude has a sound that is reminiscent of the classic metal of UFO while stamping their own evil imprint on it. We are extremely excited to have In Solitude on our label and look forward to working with this talented band while turning this underground innovator into a household word. Look for their new album in 2011."

In November, the band entered Nicke Anderson's new studio Gutterview Recorders in Stockholm, Sweden with producer Fred Estby to record a new album, which will see release in the spring of 2011. More...
