In Solitude fans may have already seen the live clip filmed by Sveriges Television (SvT) in Sweden and posted to PSL, the online music section of SvT, but now the entire feature, "On the Dark Side of Uppsala with In Solitude," has been made available with English subtitles. Check it out here or in the player below.
The two part series was filmed this spring when In Solitude took a break from recording third album "Sister" to show SvT the 400 year old Uppsala castle ruin. When the clock struck midnight (exactly 446 years after the crazy king Erik XIV of Sweden went on a killing spree through the castle) the band performed two songs: "A Buried Sun" and "Jesus i betong," a cover of Swedish punk band Cortex. Looks like February will be bedazzled by a rather black sun when occult outfit In Solitude will embark on a 19-date European trek supporting Cradle of Filth on the band's co-headlining tour with Behemoth. Support on this tour also comes from Inquisition and Svarttjern.
In Solitude from Uppsala, Sweden is out now with third effort "Sister." Currently In Solitude is touring North America supporting Watain.
Behemoth meanwhile will release new album "The Satanist" in 2014. Frontman Nergal comments: “We are immensely proud to start promotion of 'The Satanist' on the release date of the album in such a noble company. It's been a while since we toured Europe for the last time… The wolf pack grew stronger and hungrier and with new opus and stage production we have so much more to offer. This European crusade will be the catalyst of 2 years long tour so keep your eyes open!”
Vocalist Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth also comments: “We are very much looking forward to touring with Behemoth et al, as I think the combined line-up for these momentous shows is definitely very killer. Prepare for some riotous shows immersed in such esteemed dark company, as Cradle traverses an Old Skool tour programme set against a viscerally visual backdrop of nocturnal metal supremacy. In other words, be there or be squared. Pinhead-style!” More...

Vocalist Pelle Åhman speaks on behalf of In Solitude: "It's time to release our third album, and things have never felt this clear and pervasive before. This is a feeling that has permeated our whole lives during the latest year of writing and recording this album, as well as digesting and dealing with its consequences. And it has been wonderful, overwhelming and utterly devastating. Which, in the world of In Solitude, are very positive things, and exactly what was required.
"It is a very special album for us, and I am very thankful and proud of my brothers (including our great friend, and producer, Martin Konie Ehrencrona), for this is truly the most visceral music we've ever made, and we can't wait for you to experience it too.
"You come without. And all falls within. There is a light in the world. There is a stone to the head." More...

We can't wait to arrive and let it steal another sky from our eyes. See you in October." More...
With the release of their forthcoming full-length, "The Wild Hunt" drawing near (review coming soon), Swedish black metallers Watain are now ready to announce their first North American tour in support of the album.
Featuring In Solitude and Tribulation as support, this month-long headlining trek (aptly named "The Wild Hunt North America") showcases some of Sweden's finest metal from coast to coast. See below for all upcoming dates.
Watain comments: "Starting the first full tour for 'The Wild Hunt' in North America seems quite appropriate, considering how many severe experiences and sleepless nights that country has bestowed upon us while riding through its strange wilderness...A thousand years and a thousand deaths have passed since we last visited the States, so prepare yourself to face something very, very old and very, very hungry. Deformed from both victory and defeat, distorted by a constant influx of powers residing beyond the borders of this world, we now return to join forces with our ever loyal US supporters. With us we will have two acts that have the capacity of transforming the audience into one big open wound before we go on stage, ready then to receive the lethal yet illuminating venom of Watain." This years edition of the the Eindhoven Metal Meeting will take place from December 12th - 14th, 2013.
The festival's organizers have now checked in with the following announcement about adding more bands to the bill:
"Tiamat, Elvenking featuring Martin Walkyier's Skyclad, Brutal Truth, In Solitude, The Rotted, Centurian, entrapment and Sound Storm have been added to our bill!
One of the most defining moments in my musical development was back in 2004 when Yahoo Launch saw that I liked listening to Unearth, Fear Factory, and Lamb of God and thought that I might enjoy My Chemical Romance's “I'm Not Okay.” That single moment of revulsion caused me to look for music on my own terms after seeing how some corny and cheesy pop-rock could somehow be marketed towards metalheads. Today, we see a number of bands that try to look and act like they're part of the metal scene through their image (and the bands they tour with), but have a sound rooted more in traditional rock and roll than anything spawned by Sabbath.
First off, I'm not here to debate the merits of bands like Ghost and Ancient VVisdom. The debate over artistic integrity isn't at all relevant here. Instead, this is about is marketing and claiming bands that in no way sound “metal” are still technically considered part of the metal scene. Personally, I do like some occult rock as I've long been a fan of Current 93 and I've done my fair share of listening to Coven. That said, I'd never call Current 93 a metal band nor would I want the group touring with Cannibal Corpse. Variety between acts belongs to big music festivals like Bonaroo and Lollapalooza, and not to small club shows. More...

In Solitude, after having spent several weeks crisscrossing North America with Behemoth, Watain, and The Devil's Blood, is finally ready to unveil the band's first music video. "To Her Darkness," the atmospheric new video directed by Johan Bååth, is streaming exclusively via Pitchfork's Show No Mercy feature. The track is the sixth cut from In Solitude's most recent album, "The World. The Flesh. The Devil." (reviewed here)
In Solitude's vocalist, Hornper, elaborates on the creative process behind the new piece of art, "We have now explored her further. This time in a field within which we've undeniably have had very little experience nor vocation. It's a series of portraits. Attempted visual translations. A fragile breach. Mirroring certain aspects and fragments of the experiences lying in the basis for the song's emergence, and its lyrics. The creative collaboration Johan Bååth and everyone involved was a very rewarding experience for us. And as our first attempt with this medium, we are very thankful to him for working with us. Not to mention his crew and the great contribution of Anna Norberg, Erik Danielsson and Marie Larsson, for which we are incredibly grateful."
Fan-filmed footage has been posted online of In Solitude performing on the Decibel Magazine tour with Behemoth and Watain on April 22nd at Hawthorne Theatre.

The inaugural Decibel Magazine tour kicks off in a mere eight days in Columbus, OH. It wasn't too late, however, for the venue owners to prohibit the bands from appearing at The Brewmaster's Gate. Behemoth, Watain, The Devil's Blood, and In Solitude are being forbidden from playing at the venue because of religious conflicts with the venue owners. These bands are no strangers to this type of treatment, and a new venue has already been confirmed. The Columbus, OH show will now be at Al Rosa. Tickets for this show are still available and can be purchased here.
Behemoth's front man, Nergal, comments further: "Wow, big motherfuckin' WOW! We are facing a legendary moment: Amerika, the land of the free, is banning Behemoth coz of religious beliefs. The madness starts in Ohio, but of korz we are playing anyway. Nothing can stop us now. God, please save me from this freedom…"
Beginning on April 11th and laying waste through a gargantuan 26-date run, the Decibel Magazine Tour (presented by Metal Blade Records, IndieMerchStore.com, FYE, ESP Guitars and Good Fight Entertainment) not only offers four diverse European artists hand-picked by the magazine, but doubles as Behemoth's first U.S. tour since vocalist/guitarist Adam "Nergal" Darski's well-documented battle with—and triumph over—leukemia. Dutch occult rockers The Devil's Blood are gearing up for a near month-long run of North American dates on the forthcoming Decibel Magazine Tour alongside Behemoth, Watain and In Solitude. The band will be touring in support of "The Thousandfold Epicentre" (reviewed here) released earlier this year via Metal Blade Records.
Comments founder and band leader SL: “The Devil's Blood is proud and extremely eager to travel the New World alongside some of the world’s most dedicated metal bands. Dedicated not to some pathetic notion of ‘scene’ or ‘unity’ but to a clear, totally individual, spiritual path that although not understood by most is perhaps the most valid and urgent one available for wandering feet to travel in the twilight of the Iron Age. We share many opinions and disagree on many more, yet our offerings all speak of that great mystery which we all aspire to with passion and fury. Praise be to all those who accompany us on this particular path.”
