Lineup changes continue for Pennsylvania metal act Power Theory, as the band announced that bassist Drew Foster would be departing the band due to the constraints and commitments of his job. Foster will continue to fill in for live shows when if there was a need and he would continue to work on the side project with guitarist BB Ballinger. The new bassist is Alan D'Angelo (Ex-Sleepy Hollow/Livesay).
The band's announcement reads as follows: "We are...very pleased to announce Alan D`Angelo (Livesay, ex-Sleepy Hollow) will be taking over duties as Power Theory bassist for Warriors of Metal IV - Open Air and the fall 'Metal Masters Tour' with Vicious Rumors, Leather Wolf, Seven Witches, and Power Theory's support role starting 10/03/13 in our home town, Philadelphia, and the forthcoming 'Driven By Fear' final recording sessions. Alan is a kick ass bass player and has great stage presence."
The band was forced to cancel its upcoming appearance in Delaware this weekend: "Unfortunately, we will have to cancel our 6/22/13 date with label mates Widow and good friends Infernal Opera at Mojo 13 in Wilmington, Delaware to prepare with Alan for our Warriors of Metal IV set in Ohio, on 6/29/13, but will attend to support the bands, and rest assured we will be in top form for our scheduled set at WOM IV."
Power Theory recently hired new vocalist Jeff Rose last month.
Pure Steel Records artist Power Theory from Philadelphia, PA is very pleased to announce Jeff Rose (Livesay, Present Darkness) as new lead vocalist
Guitarist Bob Ballinger comments: "I have followed Jeff from the NY/Phila Metal scene for a few years now and we have mutual friends in the scene, Jeff contacted us via our publicist Susi 'Rocket Queen' Mueller.
"We had a few really talented vocalists contact us about the open position over the last few weeks but Jeff stood out the most with his detailed breakdown of the material we asked him to learn and constant communication, and he basically nailed our live set in 6 days. Jeff brings a new dimension to the band with his power and range."
Now with Jeff Rose on vocals and Nygil Hoch on lead guitar, Power Theory will play a warm-up show at Mojo 13 in Claymont, Delaware with Pure Steel label mates Widow on June 22nd.
The band will return home to the studio to complete the album "Driven by Fear" with executive producer Peter Baltes (Accept), engineer Matt DiFabio (Single Bullet Theory), and with mixing handled by Carlos Alveraz (ShadowDance).
Power Theory has parted ways with vocalist Dave Santini, citing musical differences as the main issue. The band comments:
"A new vocalist and guitarist will be announced in the next week for the forthcoming Warriors of Metal Festival, CD Release, and fall tour dates with Vicious Rumors, Leather Wolf, and Seven Witches. We thank Dave for his run with the band and wish him the best in the future."

Philadelphia-based traditional metal band Power Theory has welcomed renowned metal guitarist Steve Stegg into the ranks as the newest band member. Steve is a founding member and former guitarist for Blood Feast, Sleepy Hollow and Tapping the Vein. Guitarist Bob 'BB' Ballinger of Power Theory had the following to say:
Power Theory has been looking to add a second dual rhythm/lead guitarist since the end of the recording sessions for 'An Axe to Grind,' but our commitments haven't given us the time to do anything but start to compile a list of potential candidates. Steve is a great friend and supporter of the band, and has been a regular at our local shows; in fact he replaced me as the Colossus guitarist and played with Jay Pekala prior to his first Sleepy Hollow tenure.
We would always jokingly add Steve as our top candidate when we discussed it, but knew he was very busy with Sleepy Hollow and there was no chance, so we moved on to other names. "Steve informed us he had become available in mid July and was interested in jamming to see if there was chemistry and it was evident from the first few minutes it was a great fit for both Power Theory and Steve.
We will then take a short break from live shows to start demo tracking for a new full length CD we are planning to start recording in February and release in 2013. We are currently negotiating with a legendary artist/producer for the project (more to come soon on that). Steve will be a very big part of the writing and recording process for the new album, and we will resume some live shows in October 2012. European dates are being planned for 2013 with Red Lion Music as well as Warriors of Metal Fest VI, and some US tour dates with Axxenstar and Taberah for summer 2013.

Furthermore, the organization has issued the following statement regarding its charitable effort for this year's festivities:
"Since Warriors of Metal, Inc. is a registered non-profit organization in the state of Ohio and we are dedicated to education and proliferation of metal music as well as charitable service to our greater metal family and community, we would like to announce that for this year's charity project we will be collecting money at the festival to donate to our metal brother Brian Bond, who plays in the Thursday, June 28th Pre-Fest Showcase band KLNZR."
"Brian recently lost his home to a fire and although everybody in the family is fine, they did lose some pets in the process of trying to escape the blaze. Brian and his family are in temporary housing now and we will be making a collection during the Fest to help them out. Additionally, our friend Fabio Delibo of the Brazilian thrash metal band Machinage has stated: 'We from Machinage are very saddened to hear about Brian Bond's home having been destroyed in a fire, and since we can't help just by our hands, we are willing to try to collect as much money as we can in all the gigs."
"We are going to play in our month long US Tour this summer in order to help Brian and his family.' The 2012 Machinage US Tour starts at Worcester, Massachusetts, goes as far north as Burlington, Vermont, as far south as New Orleans, Louisiana, and as far west as Kansas City, Missouri. We at Warriors of Metal, Inc. applaud Machinage's pledge and shall do our best to help them raise even more money for the Bond family and this worthy cause during our fifth year anniversary show this summer."

Philadelphia, PA area metal band Power Theory has announced their new drummer as Chris Smith (After Glow, Tears of the Departed). The band plans to have local live shows in December and January, in which they will also record 4 or 5 songs for a live EP to showcase Chris’s "Metal Machine Drumming." The band will also be recording drum tracks for their next full length album “An Axe to Grind” set to be released in Summer/Fall 2011.
“It will be an injustice to the fans not to record a few our heavier songs with Chris’s drumming and see how much tighter and heavier the material becomes, plus it’ll be a little live teaser before to the new one” quotes guitarist BB Ballinger.
The band would also like to acknowledge and thank Infernal Opera drummer Michael Alberque for his help keeping the backline while our search for a permanent drummer took place.
Pennsylvania's Power Theory has issued the following announcement about recruiting a new drummer:
"Power Theory would like to announce that due to health and personal reasons, Steve Sabo has informed us he will not be able to continue on with the band at this time, or any time in the near future. With the release of our debut album 'Out of the Ashes, Into the Fire' we are unable to take a hiatus of an unknown length. Steve will always remain a member of the Power Theory family. We wish him the best!
"Power Theory would also like to announce that Michael Alberque (Infernal Opera), has agreed to become our new drummer. Michael will continue to keep obligations/commitments with Infernal Opera as well. We also like to thank Gary Berza for working with the band for the last few weeks, and Gary will play session drums on a track for the new album 'An Axe to Grind,' when sessions begin December 10th at 1021 Studios."
