A video interview with Jonathan Dennison of UNHOLY is available for viewing at The Daily Rock.
Jonathan explains how Unholy came together, the origins of the darks lyrics of the band and how his interests in movies and comics influences his songwriting, hobbies & things he enjoys doing in his spare time, and he talks about future plans for the band including touring and recording next spring.
Jonathan recently joined The Acacia Strain as their 2nd guitarist for the band’s headlining fall tour, adding to his impressive resume which also includes Path Of Resistance, Another Victim, Santa Sagre, and of course Unholy.
Western Massachusetts' purveyors of all things heavy, THE ACACIA STRAIN, have confirmed the addition of Jonathan Dennison (Unholy, Another Victim, Path of Resistance, Santa Sangre). The band will depart for a headlining tour later this fall with support coming from Despised Icon, Full Blown Chaos and The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza.
"I couldn't be happier with our decision," comments THE ACACIA STRAIN frontman Vincent Bennett. "In my eyes, J.D. is the ideal choice. Everyone is really excited to have him on board and we can't wait to see what he has to offer this band. We're wicked excited for this tour. I've wanted to tour with all of these bands forever, and we finally are. We are going to be playing some songs that we haven't played in forever or haven't been able to play due to the lack of a second guitar and will be showcasing a new song or two. Sorry to our friends in the Great White North though, we are seriously trying to stay away from those dangerous snow-covered roadways. I promise we will make it up to you when the warmer weather hits. See everyone in November and December!" More...

"We're wicked excited for this tour," frontman Vincent Bennet says. "I've wanted to tour with all of these bands forever, and we finally are. We are going to be playing some songs that we haven't played in forever or haven't been able to play due to the lack of a second guitar (hint) and will be showcasing a new song or two. Expect a ton of "thumbs up" and some serious hangouts. Save your pennies too, because we are going to have a bunch of one time only merch designs! I can think of no better way to ring in the holiday season than with all the bands on this tour. Sorry to our friends in the Great White North though, we are seriously trying to stay away from those dangerous snow-covered roadways. I promise we will make it up to you when the warmer weather hits. See everyone in November and December!"

The Acacia Strain recently canceled several shows after guitarist was bitten by a brown recluse spider. Here's statement from singer, Vincent Bennett:
"I'm sure a lot of you have heard that we had to cancel the last day of Sounds of the Underground and our last couple of shows because DL got bit by a poisonous spider. DL is not dead, so you can squash that rumor. He got bit by a brown recluse, you can read all about it here. Basically, it's a spider whose venom rots skin. If it isn't treated in enough time the bite victim can rot completely from the inside. The doctors said if we had waited two more days DL would have been legless, or dead. But he's, ok. Ok?"

"We couldn't be more excited about this tour," frontman Vincent Bennett says. "The dudes in Hatebreed are nicest guys ever, we really got to know them over in the UK. And, obviously, we can't wait to hit the road with Terror again, we have been trying to hop on a tour with them since the last one. Everyone should expect the most from us. We have a lot of great bands to keep up with...shit is going to be intense." Fresh off supporting THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD and From A Second Story Window along with labelmates LIGHT THIS CITY, Massachusetts' THE ACACIA STRAIN has returned home before hitting the road again in January and February. Vocalist Vincent Bennett has offered a bulky band update via the band's MySpace page:
"Hello everyone in heavyland. Vincent here with a large update. We haven't spoken in a while so I figured I'd bring you guys up to speed. The Daniel [Dan Daponde, guitar] has bowed out gracefully. For those of you have been asking about Daniel J. Daponde, here are your answers: due to health problems, Dan has been forced to leave his position as a badass guitar player in The Acacia Strain. We miss him a whole bunch, and we are sure you all do as well. Wish him luck in his future endeavors!"
"We are NOT currently looking for a replacement. Please stop asking. When we do end up looking for another guitarist, we will let you know. For now, here is what you might want to strive for:
1. At LEAST one year of tour experience as a musician
2. Commitment to us and the road, we are never home.
3. A good attitude!
4. Willingness and the ability to write music.
"There is more, but like I said...We aren?t really looking right now. DL [Daniel Laskiewicz] is doing pretty well on his own.
"The tour with Through The Eyes of The Dead, From A Second Story Window, and Light This City was fucking amazing! Thanks to all who came out and had a good time! See you again in January/February! Speaking of which, we are touring in Jan/Feb with Job For A Cowboy, Psyopus, See You Next Tuesday and Daath! DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO MAKE IT TO ONE OF THESE SHOWS. It?s going to be bruuuuuutal. See you there!"

The final two bands that will be accompanying Job for a Cowboy, Psyopus, and See You Next Tuesday will be Prosthetic Records The Acacia Strain and Roadrunner Records Daath, which features infamous death-metal drummer Kevin Talley. The tour kicks off on January 12th in Menomonee, WI and will end on February 18th in Arlington Heights, IL. With ticket prices between $10 and $12, there is no excuse not to catch what is sure to be one of the most brutal tours out in the underground in early 2007.
Chris from Psyopus had this comment: "The upcoming tour with Job For a Cowboy, The Acacia Strain, Daath and See You Next Tuesday is going to crush for sure, and we hope to see everyone we have met over the last few months at these shows."
Here's what guitarist Ravi has to say: "We are very proud to be a part of this tour. It will come at an exciting time for us as we will be coming out of the studio and going on the road with our friends who happen to be some of our favorite bands. Come out to the shows, support these awesome bands, and have a good time."
In other news, Job for a Cowboy will be entering the studio in December to record their debut release for Metal Blade Records that will hit stores in spring 2007.
Bay Area thrashers LIGHT THIS CITY have joined forces with labelmates Through The Eyes of the Dead and The Acacia Strain along with From A Second Story Window, replacing If Hope Dies on the upcoming Through The Eyes of the Dead headlining tour. Sponsored by Draven Shoes and Decibel magazine, the tour will cross the US from November 16 - December 17 and marks LIGHT THIS CITY's return to the road after the band's two-month stint on the Spreading The Disease tour alongside Suicide Silence, All Shall Perish and Nights Like These and subsequent three-week run alongside Caliban and The Acacia Strain.
"We are more than excited about getting the opportunity to tour with our good friends in Through the Eyes of the Dead and The Acacia Strain," drummer Ben Murray said. "We have toured with both of those bands in the past and can't wait to join forces again! We'll see all of you guys at the shows. It should be a month of good times."
LIGHT THIS CITY continues to support the band's third release, 'Facing The Thousand,' which was released in September through Prosthetic Records. Produced by Zack Ohren and featuring artwork by Robot Plague's Mario Garza, 'Facing The Thousand' was recorded in March of 2006 and is the follow-up to 2005's 'Remains of the Gods.'
