Massachusetts’ THE ACACIA STRAIN have confirmed a return trip to Europe with support from Annotations of An Autopsy and Knights of the Abyss, including a show with Converge, Inegrity and Coliseum in Germany. Heading across the pond in July and August, this marks the band’s first return after offering direct support to Hatebreed in April of 2007 and first set of tour dates after THE ACACIA STRAIN’s plans to headlining shows throughout the US on the Sun Your Bunz Summer Tour with support from All Shall Perish, The Warriors, Eternal Lord and Since The Flood.
“I can't even express in words how excited I am for this tour,” frontman Vincent Bennett says. “This is our first time in mainland Europe, so expect some culture shock on both ends. Annotations and Knights of The Abyss both bring devious amounts of heavy, so this should be a tour to contend with. See you in July!”
Meanwhile, THE ACACIA STRAIN will enter the studio April 13 with Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, Municipal Waste) at Planet Z Studio to record "Continent," the follow-up to 2006’s "The Dead Walk." Again handling artwork will be Paul Romano (Mastodon, The Red Chord, Trivium), and one of the pre-production tracks from "Continent," entitled “Dr. Doom,” is available on the band’s MySpace page.

Oakland CA’s very own ALL SHALL PERISH will be taking part in this Summer’s Sun Your Bunz tour featuring headliners THE ACACIA STRAIN. Support will come from THE WARRIORS (May 30th – June 14th), ETERNAL LORD (June 14th – 29th) and SINCE THE FLOOD. Drummer, Matt Kuykendall, commented on being in a yet another cramped space with the same sweaty dudes for another month:
"This fucking tour is going to crush! We love the ACACIA STRAIN’s music and the great dudes in the band. THE WARRIORS are added to half the tour as well, so its not only gonna be a mosh nightmare but an awesome time with old friends. We are also going to debut around three new songs so we cant wait! SINCE THE FLOOD has always been awesome hardcore and now with Nate Johnson singing for them they are going to be insane. We get to meet a bunch of Australians in ETERNAL LORD who are pretty much the nicest people on the planet; it’s gonna be a great tour. See you in the pit!" More...

For "Continent," THE ACACIA STRAIN has again tapped artist Paul Romano (Mastodon, The Red Chord, Trivium), who handled the artwork for the band’s previous release, "The Dead Walk," which saw a June 2006 release via Prosthetic Records.

The band will depart for a headlining tour later this fall with support coming from Despised Icon, Full Blown Chaos and The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza.
"I couldn't be happier with our decision," comments THE ACACIA STRAIN frontman Vincent Bennett. "In my eyes, J.D. is the ideal choice. Everyone is really excited to have him on board and we can't wait to see what he has to offer this band. We're wicked excited for this tour. I've wanted to tour with all of these bands forever, and we finally are. We are going to be playing some songs that we haven't played in forever or haven't been able to play due to the lack of a second guitar and will be showcasing a new song or two. Sorry to our friends in the Great White North though, we are seriously trying to stay away from those dangerous snow-covered roadways. I promise we will make it up to you when the warmer weather hits. See everyone in November and December!" More...

We are going to be playing some songs that we haven't played in forever or haven't been able to play due to the lack of a second guitar (hint) and will be showcasing a new song or two. Expect a ton of "thumbs up" and some serious hangouts. Save your pennies too, because we are going to have a bunch of one time only merch designs! I can think of no better way to ring in the holiday season than with all the bands on this tour. Sorry to our friends in the Great White North though, we are seriously trying to stay away from those dangerous snow-covered roadways. I promise we will make it up to you when the warmer weather hits. See everyone in November and December!"

The Acacia Strain recently canceled several shows after guitarist was bitten by a brown recluse spider. Here's statement from singer, Vincent Bennett:
"I'm sure a lot of you have heard that we had to cancel the last day of Sounds of the Underground and our last couple of shows because DL got bit by a poisonous spider. DL is not dead, so you can squash that rumor. He got bit by a brown recluse, you can read all about it here. Basically, it's a spider whose venom rots skin. If it isn't treated in enough time the bite victim can rot completely from the inside. The doctors said if we had waited two more days DL would have been legless, or dead. But he's, ok. Ok?"

We have wanted to tour with God Forbid and Evergreen Terrace for a while now and can't wait to see what After The Burial has to offer. And, obviously, we can't wait to hit the road with Terror again, we have been trying to hop on a tour with them since the last one. Everyone should expect the most from us.
