Western Massachusetts' THE ACACIA STRAIN has set the dates to record the follow up to their 2008 release, the highly successful "Continent.” The band will be returning to track the new record with Zeuss at Planet Z Studios in Hadley, MA, where they recorded “Continent,” on April 14th.
Vocalist Vincent Bennett commented, “It's been a long time coming. It’s going to be hard to follow ‘Continent,’ but I'm confident that everyone will be as pleased with this record as we are. With this album we're not trying to reinvent the wheel, per say, but prove ourselves viable in today's music scene."
"Written and (to be) recorded in its entirety on 8 string guitars, this record will be the heaviest record of 2010, hands down."
Bennett added, "This is not the heaviest record EVER written, but it IS the heaviest ACACIA STRAIN record to date."
Knoxville, Tennessee's WHITECHAPEL has released the cover art and track listing for their upcoming new album, "A New Era of Corruption," which is due out on June 8th via Metal Blade Records. "The album is finally 100% complete and we couldn't be more excited. I think this record truly represents where we are as musicians at this point in our career. A New Era of Corruption is the heaviest and most aggressive material we have written to date," comments guitarist and founding member Alex Wade, Some of you may notice that the title of the new record, A New Era of Corruption, is a line from the song 'Possession' off of our last album This Is Exile. We wanted to name the CD this to bring a little flavor from 'This Is Exile' into the new CD, as well as I think the name represents this new age of extreme metal that we are currently rising in. The album is not a concept record like This Is Exile was. It just has its own general theme and each song deals with its own topic track by track." More...

Celebrating its fourth year, Feed the Beat provides free food and marketing support to America’s up-and-coming rock acts. This year, touring bands from across the nation, including The All-American Rejects, The Acacia Strain, Municipal Waste, Atreyu, Owl City, Dr. Dog, and more, will receive $500 in Taco Bell Bucks. More than just free food, bands also receive marketing support for their music.

Once there, fans can listen to bands they know or discover new tunes as they stream music via the Feed the Beat Music Player.
“Feed the Beat began as a simple way to show how much we love and support independent music, but it’s grown to become a benchmark for how Taco Bell supports bands and artists,” said David Ovens, Chief Marketing Officer, Taco Bell Corp. “Our Feed the Beat bands have been showcased via our partnerships with MTV and ESPN, as we work hard to highlight their talent and music. Whether helping to extend the spotlight on their nominations for Video Music Awards, getting them to play at the VMAs, or creating live concerts and soundtrack opportunities during the X Games, the work never stops in support of our bands. We want to help our 2009 lineup to realize at least the same type of success and hopefully more.”
