"Well folks... Since the cat is kinda already out of the bag, here is a little update regarding some of the guest vocals on our album.
"We are very pleased to let you know that Mick Moss from the excellent melancholic down tempo act Antimatter just finished recording his guest vocals for the song Condemned to Silence where he is adding some doubles and harmonies with Aleah's vocals. We are loving the sound of it, but then again, how can you go wrong with a voice like his?" More...

Antimatter has released a new music video for "Uniformed & Black," which can be found below. The song is taken off the band's upcoming album "Fear Of A Unique Identity," set for North American release on January 15th, 2013. Mick Moss comments about the video clip:
"'Uniformed & Black', with its short running time, infectious hook and driven energy, always struck me as having potential to be a single or a video. With the ink dry on the new contract with Prophecy Productions, it was the perfect time to explore the possibilities for this. Sometime in 2012 I developed a film concept to accompany the song, and later that year the promo was greenlit by Prophecy.
"We looked at a few filmmakers and settled upon the team of Nicolas Giraldon, Mehdi Messouci and Grégoire Orio. It was a very strange experience to actually sit in a scene that up until that moment had only existed in my head. Very surreal. The concept of the video perfectly sums up the idea behind the song, and also 'Fear Of A Unique Identity' as a whole – the suppression of individuality in order to blend in with the masses." More...
U.K. progressive rock act Antimatter has revealed the release date for its anticipated "Alternative Matter" compilation album. "Alternative Matter" is set to include unreleased recordings and alternative versions compiled by Anitmatter's Mick Moss. "Alternative Matter" features demo and acoustic versions of Antimatter songs, live recordings, remixes, and also new recordings which have been written for this compilation. "Alternative Matter" is set for release on January 11, 2011 in the U.S. and November 29, 2010 in Europe.
Mick Moss commented by saying:
"The amazing thing about this compilation is that these pieces were set to tape in many different places during a period of over ten years, yet collected together they form a coherent and united new listening experience, a fascinating alternate history that sounds unlike any prior Antimatter album. I would love to be able to hear this collection in its entirety with fresh ears for the first time, but that's now for the listener to do."

Recording is expected to take place sometime in Spring 2006 at Studio 33 ('Planetary Confinement') in Liverpool, England. Confirmed guest musicians on the CD include Danny Cavanagh (ANATHEMA) and Chris Phillips (drums; 'Planetary Confinement').
Check the band's website at this location where you can still find a free four-track live video available for download, including full artwork to print off. 'Antimatter 06 06 03' was filmed during their 2003 tour and features live acoustic renditions of 'The Last Laugh', 'Going Nowhere/Destiny', 'In Stone' and 'Empty'.
'Planetary Confinement' was released in July of 2005. Around the same time ANTIMATTER founding member Duncan Patterson (ex-ANATHEMA) decided to leave the band to pursue his solo project ION.
Duncan Patterson (Anathema/Deathcap) has announced a wish to move away from Antimatter after the release of "Planetary Confinement." He will concentrate on his new project, "Ion." Details of Ion, Deathcap, and all other related projects can be found at the umbrella site duncanpatterson.tk. As for Antimatter, Mick Moss will continure the project with a new album for 2006 entitled "Leaving Eden," featuring Anathema's Daniel Cavanagh.
I have decided that Planetary Confinement is to be my departing Antimatter album. This is for my own personal reasons, (per·son·al - adj. Concerning a particular person and his or her private business, interests, or activities; intimate: "I have something personal to tell you"), and nothing to do with anyone else. Feel free to gossip and start rumours though, it will help us sell more cds and that.
Good luck to Mick, and thanks to the many people who have helped and supported us for the past seven years. I'm moving on with a new project 'Íon', for which I have a deal with Equilibrium Music. Anyone who is interested in my future releases etc. can check www.duncanpatterson.com for regularly updated news.
Later this year, antimatter.tk will release a 4-track virtual video E.P. recorded before a live audience during Antimatter's 2003 tour. "Planetary Confinement" will be released on July 26th by The End Records (U.S.A) and Prophecy Productions (rest of the world). To download sample track "Legions," please visit antimatter.tk

Antimatter have set "Planetary Confinement" as the title of their third album, tentatively due in February.
"The album is acoustic-based, and will have a much more organic feel than 'Saviour' or 'Lights Out,' this time featuring natural strings, piano and drums," reads a posting on the group's web site. "Some of Duncan's [Patterson] recordings will be of interest as one is a track that was originally intended for 'Alternative 4'. Anathema fans will also notice 'Eternity Part 24,' which is a modern version of 'Eternity Part 4.' Duncan and Mick worked seperately in their home countries for this release, involving local musicians.
"Duncan is currently mixing the Irish sessions for the album. Confirmed song titles are 'Line Of Fire', 'Planetary Confinement', 'Relapse', 'Mr. White' and 'Eternity Part 24'. The sessions will feature guest performances from local Irish musicians.
"Recording and mixing is now complete for the English half of the album. Mick recorded four tracks in mid-July ('A Portrait Of The Young Man As An Artist', 'Legions', 'The Weight Of The World' and 'Epitaph'), choosing to abandon all electronica and produce an all-natural session, complete with live drums and violins, the latter performed by Rachel Brewster of Liverpool band Marlowe. Recording took place in Studio 33, Liverpool and was engineered by Ronnie O'Keefe."
From The End Records website:
Recording and mixing is now complete for the English half of Antimatters as yet untitled 3rd album. Mick recorded 4 tracks in mid July ("A Portrait Of The Young Man As An Artist," "Legions," "The Weight Of The World" and "Epitaph") choosing to abandon all electronica and produce an all-natural session, complete with live drums and violins. As the album will essentially be an England vs Ireland production (or Liverpool vs Dublin), recording for Duncans half will take place at a later date in Eire (possibly Sept or Oct 04), featuring guest musicians from that area. Duncan has already produced an early graphic design that will likely become the albums artwork.
Britain's ANTIMATTER, a group made up of current and past members of popular post-metal merchants ANATHEMA, have entered the studio to begin recording their third album. A late summer/early fall release is expected. Songtitles set to appear on the CD are as follows:
01. A Portrait Of The Young Man As An Artist
03. Eternity Part 24
04. Fighting For A Lost Cause
06. The Weight Of The World
The album will represent a brief hiatus from electronica, as an acoustic orchestral sound canvass is planned. Danny Cavanagh (piano) and Jenny O'Connor (vocals) are likely to appear on some tracks, echoing the acoustic sessions of 2001 that yielded the bonus tracks for "Saviour". Rachel Brewster from the U.K. band MARLOWE is also scheduled to make an appearance.
Antimatter have published a FREE album, bridging the gap between last years 'Lights Out' and our third album (due to be recorded May 2004)
The album 'Unreleased 1998 - 2003' features 16 rare tracks, including the original demos, live tracks, cover versions, remixes and an exclusive piano version of 'Lost Control' recorded especially for this collection. There are also live versions of 'Far Away' , 'Flowers' and Pink Floyds 'Nobodys Home' featuring Anathemas Danny Cavanagh
The 'virtual album' can be downloaded from http://www.antimatter.tk along with the front and back cd covers which can be printed off.
